Hello everyone,
For any SAM 112 members out there who were unable to attend last night's banquet, I thought I would fill you in a bit. It was held at Marie Callendar's in Concord and they did a nice job. (Although, I must admit I really missed Gerry's!) The restaurant did a good job on the food. There was a lot of magic talk, and laughing going on. It was a lively bunch! After dinner, the past president Wayne Parnell, handed out the awards. Then came the entertainment portion of the evening! Our incoming board, with costumes and all, did a rousing version of YMCA. I still think the Conjuror needs a picture of Mac in the biker hat, that was priceless! After which Andrew (from America's Got Talent) did a great saxophone performance. Then the main event, Tim James. Who doesn't love Tim James?! He was awesome, as always. He brought out my favorite routine, which is Rocky. I couldn't stop giggling. Women my age are not supposed to giggle, but that racoon gets me every time. It was definitely a night filled with magic and camaraderie! As a reminder to all.... don't forget our meeting place has been changed! Be sure to check the SAM 112 website for the new location & directions. Have a magical day everyone, Kristen |

ATTN: San Francisco Area Magicians
free publicity stunt alert!!! In the SF Guardian this week are printed, on pages 16 and 20 are the cards "Jack of Spades" (p16) and the "Ace of Spades" (p20). This is for a promo for the upcoming movie "21", but I think an enterprising magician could make a pretty darn good pub stunt out of it! Don't say I never did anything for you! G

And we missed you too, Charlie. Hope Florida is treating you well.
Yes, the swap meet and auction had a great turnout. Gaddy bought the poster you new see as his Avatar from Mr Phil Temple. Phil also had a poster of Lee Grabel mounted on canvas. very nice piece if you have the wall space. The next Oakland Magic Circle meeting is May 6 and will be a MOVIE NIGHT. Come see clips of Al Flosso, Kuda Bux, The Banana Man, Roy Benson, John Scarne, and Harry Blackstone interviewed by Edward R Murrow!! Afterwards, be prepaired to perform a little parlor miracle for the club. Thank you, Scott Alcalay 2008 president of the Oakland Magic Circle
