Glad I came out to the swap meet. Some people got unbelievable deals in the auction!

I hope everyone enjoyed the OMC swap meet as much as I did. I wanted to get there much earlier than I did, but traffic and other unforeseeable circumstances caused me to be late.
I let a couple of goodies slip away that I probably should have bid a little more aggressively on, but all in all I got some good stuff ( and of course the bad stuff that I got I can always sell at next year's auction )

The next episode of "Obscura" is here!
This one was a hard one to shoot. Again, no time and money to really do it up nice. And, MAN did we have problems each time we did the effect. I had invited a few women (that knew me but didn't know me well at all) to help us with this. And, each time we brought in a new person SOMETHING ELSE would go wrong! Thankfully the last take worked well enough. And, H.P. did some SWEEEEET documentary style stuff at the beginning and end, really brought up the style a lot. My main problems with it are with........ME. But, it's a learning curve at this point. Hope you like! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-A-ZmQWvI......embedded

Way to go Christian.
Mike, great seeing you at GGG. The not so secret poker game was a lot of fun. Kent put out some great food for the meet and greet, and the hospitality suite now has functional rules! Keep it fun and keep it magical. Great catching up with folks who come to the GGG every year. |

Bizarre Dudes,
Just about two more weeks to get the book on the pre-publication special price. Please pass the word on in your clubs and magic meetings? And/or ask your local magic shop to carry the book (from Murphys). I really hope this will serve as my legacy to the Magic Community, and help magicians present and future to think more about the Magic of their magic! Thanks, Walt http://www.leapinglizardsmagic.com/tales_of_enchantment.htm |

Odd Gathering for April 2011 in Livermore (just past Oakland/Hayward
Ladies and gentlemen It is my pleasure to announce that we have indeed settled upon a date for next years Odd Gathering. Rumors abound about our Guest of Honor, and they can now be confirmed that YES. The proper sacrifices have been made and Mr. Burger will in fact be our "special Guest". Also, in keeping with the selection of the date as an ominous, er, I meant Auspicious day for our great event, I am also pleased to announce that the festivities will begin on Friday the 15th. Oh yes, the month....April! Yes friends, so now we can add a third thing for next year, the certainties in life, : Death , Taxes , AND the Odd Gathering! At this time I am still planning to use the Hawthorn Suites. This means a rather firm cut off at 40 persons, due to the space issues. And yes, we will again have the Iron Magician (Shhh the ingredient has been chosen and it is still a secret), as well as the plastic magician contests---(plastic magic wand) Plan now to join us for the weekend. I anticipate that the slots will fill rather quickly. Again, prior attendees will have their space held for them until Dec 30, just please, if you know you cannot make it, let me know so I can open your slot. And the cost is till only $75 per person to attend. For more information or to register please go to the signature address http://www.bizarremagick.com follow the breadcrumbs to the Odd Gathering pages.

OK, I know it's silly to celebrate getting ISBN Numbers,
but it's the best number I've received since my Social Security Number... no, better I think. Hardcover - ISBN: 9781932086423, Softcover - ISBN: 9781932086416. And “Tales of Enchantment” is at the printers, and on track for the October 1, release (I may even see a review copy before that). So thank you again to everyone who helped and encouraged me with this project! Magically, Walt |

Obscura: A Magic Show got the SF Weekly's Friday Pick!!!
http://www.sfweekly.com/events/obscura-2193111/ This is sort of one of those examples where the cool conversation I had with the journalist about the show got tweaked to become a slightly different interpretation of the show. Ah well.... He meant well and he makes my show sound pretty cool. Which of course, it is

Not Obscura related but it is sorta magic related.
S.F Bay Area film maker H.P. Mendoza's new Indie Movie Musical Hit "Fruitfly" has just hit iTunes and DVD!!!! Get it today! And...you might see a little magician do some acting and singing too. I play Gaz Howard, a slimy magician with a one man show! Yeah, yeah, I know, I know, "But how's that a stretch, Christian?" Ha, ha, very funny. More info here! http://hpmendoza.com/2010/archives/119
