These do look good. Magic at Fantasma does demo this (when they have them in stock). I picked up a refill pack about 5 or so days ago. I've only performed it once so far, but the reaction was good.
I'm having dinner with several family members tomorrow who always request some magic, so I'll definitely try this out on them. Kevin

I am glad everyone that has had the opportunity to receive BRUISED thusfar has been raving about it!
I created BRUISED out of impromptu situation many years ago and never thought it would be as big as it has become. For those of you out there that have not seen the trailer, check it out! If you are a closeup worker and really want to fry your audience and make them beleive you could do real magic, this is it! Yet is also great on a stage or parlor setting! This is truly an anytime anywhere effect that will seriously rock your audience no matter your style! I have booked so many shows off the reputation of this effect, and hope you will too! I want to publicly thank all those who have supported BRUISED so far, especially Creative Magic! Please continue to share your success stories and ideas on this board, I love to read them! I absolutely killed a group with it at a banquet the other week... its one of my favorite effects and have great fun playing with it at dinners and when someone just wants to see something... any chance the packs could just contain cards though? I have the symbols and letters all spare, but completely out of cards and indexes... does anyone else only use the cards and indexes or have you found a good use for the coin and symbols ?? |

Naquada,
Thanks for sharing your success so far with BRUISED! There are a lot of great ideas you could do with your extra cards. The thing to remember is we wanted to give performers a variety of options in the way they perform BRUISED. Not just one idea, one way that your stuck with. As far as the letters and symbols are concerned, there are about to be a release of some great ideas, but try finding out the name of someone's initials that will be at a performance, and intertwine it into an existing routine. You can also use the letters to reveal the types of cards, for example like the A for ACE. I beleive CREATIVE MAGIC may be releasing the refill packs by the type of BRUISES, so this will allow you to order the type you like best, but don't give up on the others, it is amazing some ideas you can come up. To my knowledge all of the Bruises may be limited editions with CREATIVE MAGIC releasing more in the future! Thanks again for sharing! Daniel Martin |

When Daniel Martin first told me about this idea I thought to myself this is a GREAT idea perfect for the young edgy group. But I am a stage magician and anything but edgy so I never imagined me performing it. Long story short a year later I am hooked on the trick. The bottom line is it can be done as a comedy routine or a freaky esp routine or a oops you bruised me... and so on So yeah I have seen girls use BRUISED 9 year olds and 90 year old guys using bruised and if you ask me why not someone in a wheelchair, heck maybe the wheelchair is how you got the bruise! But for example one of the routines on the DVD (Wristed) can be done standing or sitting and thus being in a wheelchair won’t effect the trick at all. But again it will depend most on you and your performance style as two how you want to use BRUISED! I have always said with our other products “this isn’t for everyone” and Bruised is the same in some ways it isn’t for everyone, but if you are a performer I can guarantee this is for you! I hope that helps! B

I absolutely love Bruised! Brian, I didn't really think this would fit into my style of magic either, but I've created a comedy routine that plays great with teens! It involves being blindfolded and then going through a series of mentalism steps with a young girl. In the end, she punches me and of course I bruise! This has a lot of potential! I think I like the cards best. The coins are good too though, especially if you do a false transfer and pretend to rub the coin right through your sleeve. I guess you could do that with cards too. Is anyone else doing a comedy routine with these things?

Will the Bruise show up on a "dark" person. I would really like to purchase this but as I'm black I need to know if it will show. Thanks

Great question! How "dark" are you? We had a black guy try one on at our booth at IBM and it looked just fine on him. The darker the skin the less it is going to show up and the less realistic it is. The best thing to do would be to try one out! We have sent samples to a lot of magic shops you might ask one of your local shops if they have a sample you could try out! or feel free to contact us!
thanks B

All I can say is 'WOW!' I'm a mortician and have seen a lot of bruises, and this one holds up to my close scrutiny. Bravo!

I bought a few from Simon at FISM. I hope the refill package lets you chose a specific design to refill. I only use the "Normal" bruises. So - when exactly will the refills be available? It's Christmas season with lots of gigs and I'm running out fast.

I was thinking...for those of you who don't like the bruised presentation, how about passing it off this way: "I was born with this really wierd BIRTHMARK...
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

Man - this is such a coincidence that I would almost call it fate. I am hired to work at a trade show/convention for doctors specializing in... get this - BRUISES! I've been doing it 2 nights and some more are coming up. Bruised looks good enough to fool even the experts.
Actually, the birth mark idea is pretty good. When the tattoo starts to fade out, it looks less like a bruise and more like a a birth mark. So, if you have two gigs in a row, save yourself a rub-on and use the birthmark presentation on day two. |
