Talk about urban jungle gym, I mean these guys remind me of why I keep my balcony door locked and my windows as well. The locations were picked out well, lots of ledges and varying levels for him to work with and all without a net! Very impressive indeed!
I seem to recall seeing something like this before, in reference to a type of movement of people that do these acrobatic stunts in city settings... If anyone has a clue what I'm thinking of please chime in. And I did enjoy the video on the left as well... I mean a cute bunny doing naughty things... I'm so easily amused

Hi Doug, you are little behind the curve here, but definitely on the right track! This city running thing is way cool to watch. In fact, one of the premiere performers of this odd little art just completed a movie which is a blast. It is here at:

The yamakasi group shot several films in france, very nice lot of acrobatic moves and a little fighting (a bit like in Ong Bak (exellent asian film)) : "yamakasi" and "les fils du vents" (children of the wind (?)).

Doomo : Banlieu 13 is the latest parkour film, check out those links :
http://www.allocine.fr/film/video_gen_cfilm=29366.html (click "voir ...." links) and this one http://www.allocine.fr/film/video_gen_cfilm=42310.html Those films are more family oriented, B13 is violent and was banned from some major cinema groups in france (some riots in the cinemas) |

ME? Behind the curve? hahaha I saw ong bak
I dumped quicktime for being a pain in the butt so I can't watch that particular one but I watched the B13 stuff on xargos links...cool...but so far the amature vid I posted has 'em beat for sheer daring and outrageos moves...leaping of a three story building to the ground is a bit I won't forget

How many shots do you figure? I doubt anyone could sustain that kind of energy for that long.

Plenty of shots! But there is one where he JUMPS across a long distance to a TINY ledge with a big drop off and just plants it on about 5 inches of solid concrete.
Shivers.

Good job Doug. Thanks for sharing.
I tell you. These guys have seen me doing this, and just copied. You can't have anything to yourself these days...(yer right!) Jaw Dropping Video online?... for me it has to be David "Elsewhere". An American dancer who appears on TV and at the USA Kollaberation events. Check out his style of body popping like you have never seen before. Go to http://www.video.google.com and enter David Elsewhere in the search. You guessed it. He's just copied my routine! I give up...I'm outa here! wulfie |

I've heard this called "Freestyle Urban Gymnastics."
I figure these guys to be absolutely barking mad, as the stunts they do required tremendous amounts of lunacy to contrive. I keep thinking...if they were the bad guys and the police found themselves chasing them down the street, chances are that they'd need air suppport just to keep tabs on them. "Yes! You heard me! He just ran up the side of the building!"
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |
