Anyone hear of "Ex Nihilo," the French translation of Angelo Stagnaro's cold reading text, "Something from Nothing" - went to Manipulix Books - seems he has a lot of cool metnalism / seance materials - just wondering if anyone has his materials and how you would rate them - expensive euros! His Seance book looks very good as well...

Thanks!

OK Tony, but what about the English version? Can you tell the rest of us about this edition?

Yes, the English version has a nice collection of self working mathematical magic tricks. Among the collection is the Elephant in Denmark and the 1089 trick. Nothing original about them, just collected because the author who does not believe in cold reading, believes mathematical magic tricks make readings more entertaining.

That is the only positive remark I can make about this book.

Hi Event,

Can you elaborate a bit on why? I love Seance material - but based on the above comments - now a bit wary! Just wondering about any killer effects, philosphies or whatever....

Mr. Stagnaro is a very good performer and a good thinker. He has lectured throughout the world, and I believe at the Magic Castle. I'm sure that there is an audiene for the SOMETHING FROM NOTHING book, but as a reader, I am not in that audience. He has put out a book on 2 person mentalism as well as the seance book. Both of those may be very good, but I have no read them.

Bruce, if you are looking for good seance material, I can recommend SEANCE (the bound republication of SEANCE magazine)the material and ideas there are top notch. I also recomment Lee Earle's MANIFISTATIONS, and the package that Bruce Kalver put out on the Lizzy Bordon Seance that he, Larry White, and Al Manson put together for the Lizzy Bordon Bed & Breakfast. Last September's issue of MUM with Larry White and David Goodsell's Ghost Hunting is also fantastic!
