I liked David and Dania but I think Burton got ripped. He truly puts a unique spin on his magic. How those stupid judges could pick Rapping Granny over someone with real talent is absolutely amazing.

I was surprised to see Nathan on the show in the first place. I have been watching him on TV magic specials for years. He was one reason why I decided to start performing magic instead of just reading about it. If he is already a Vegas headliner, how did he qualify for the show?? That's like having Harary on the show.
Nathan is one of the most original magicians I know, and he's one of my personal heroes. |

I thought Nathan was great. Didn't he win one of the reality shows last year?

He was on The Entertainer on E! last year. He got voted off about halfway through. Again, lots of good exposure for his shows in Vegas. He's making himself a household name without having to tour the country. Now people who travel to Vegas will see his name and say.. hey.. wasn't he on "Americas got talent" and then go and see his show. He still wins without having to tie himself to an American Idol style contract and do all those terrible Ford commercials.

He a million bucks is a great prize in it's self, but I think that they did away with the Vegas contract. Does anyone know for sure? MDS |

But then, you have to apply that same question to each of the finalists. Does Vegas need a rappin' granny? When you think about it this way, the cross-dressing, male hula hoop dancer may have the best chance of all. LOL Kent Truthfully, Vegas doesn't really need ANYTHING!! It's all superfluous, when you think about it. But the point is, that is what Vegas is all about. Enough is never enough, if you know what I mean.

While a magician winning the competition would be great, and singers are a dime a dozen, there is something to keep in mind. The show is largely about finding undiscovered talent; Nathan, we've established, is in three shows in Vegas. David and Dania perform around the world (and were lecturing at the IBM convention - sorry I missed that!) They've already got their careers running. While I certainly don't think a rapping granny, or singer should take the prize, there are other unique acts that could stand to gain from it. (I still think Kevin Johnson should've gone through to the finals).
Just my two cents. |

They should have sent all the solo singers over to American Idol! If I wanted to see American Idol, I would have watched that instead. It was obvious that this would be the type of act to win from the get-go! Waste of time for all of the other acts.

No doubt, it was kind of "rigged".

Simon Cowell was on NY radio the morning of the finale (not the results show) and he mentioned he hoped one of the music acts would win because it's so tough to market Cloggers (Which there were two of), novelty acts (Which was Passing Zone, rapping Granny and David and Dania) or ever regular dancers (Realis). Now doing the math, that's more than half the competion.

BTW.. What ever happend to Sylvester the Jester? He was featured standing in line during many teaser ads but I never saw him on the show? Did he appear?

Great question Tim. I thought I saw him (or someone that dressed like him) in the teaser ads. My guess is it wasn't Sylvester and they didn't allow a copy cat to share the stage.
