More belaboring : The ESP cards I own I did not buy from Fun, Inc. They LOOK LIKE the ones offered by Fun, Inc. (blue backs with lots of little white stars) but come from Haines House of Cards. As I say, they do not seem to be marked on the back. I wrote to Fun, Inc. and they tell me the ESP cards they offer ARE marked, but do not come with instructions for reading the marks, although they have those instructions and will send them to interested buyers of their cards. I'm sorry -- I'm just obsessive about getting things right. The bottom line: it does not seem that ALL ESP cards that have blue backs with little white stars are marked, but some (including those from Fun, Inc.) are.

A deck that's not seen to often is the "Gypsy Witch" deck that USPCC puts out.
A modified version of that deck is the one included with Paul Harris's "Deep Astonishment II". (The DA deck is paper as opposed to plastic, and has a different back design, but the faces are identical). I picked up a few decks from my local Tarot Card supplier here in town and have been working with trying to find a gaff that works well with them. I'm leaning towards developing a packet trick with them, based on a packet trick from an old volume on my bookshelf. Regardless, even if you were just to turn one of these decks into an Invisible deck, or went further and developed an original packet trick with them, the cards really have an "old world" and mystical look and feel to them, all the while (because of their size) you're able to handle them (with your normal sleights) as you would a regular deck of cards. One thing to consider though is that these cards as they come from USPCC have some sort of plastic finish on them, which may affect things like deck marking, R/S, or trimming them for L/S. |

Split forcing decks are pretty nice. I get a lot of use out of mine, and it's rather easy to use and looks clean.

Anyone ever heard of the Dekram marked deck. I bought it years ago and it came with some interesting effect. It was printed on a Master Poker card set.

I'd vote Mind Power deck as an absolutely brilliant effect, followed by Trilogy. Both technically self-working so no card skill required as per the original post.
John Archer has a nice move for a deck switch for his Tossed Out Deck, to make it more real. Worth looking for on his Educating Archer DVDs if you want an easy opener... |

My money would go with "Beyond ESP 2" from the boys at Magic box. I don't own any other ESP decks, as this was my first ESP purchase a few years ago, but the deck and the suggested routines are strong (and relatively simple!).
Whats more.....it's also pretty cheap! |

If you'r not a MD guy.
I recommend you to do mnemonica. You will love the reaction frmo ur audience when you do the routines with mnemonica. They'll be like : " No Way!!!!!" and this always gratify my vanity, lol |

Mastermind Deck by Chris Kenworthey is a wonderful deck to use . . .
Why is it that on one side of the world a person looks at a picture of the Grand Canyon and says, "it looks so real." At the same time on the other side of the world a person looks at the Grand Canyon and says, "it looks like a picture."

Mindpower deck is excellent. I also recommend making up Max Maven's "Sventalism". I is describe in Jim Steinmeyer's May, 1999, Genii column and in his compilation of those columns, "Conjuring Anthology", page 316. David Regal's "Prophecy Pack" is a strong effect and so are some of the other gaffed decks described in his book.
