Nope. You still have to have a business license to order from D-Robbins.
A friend of mine has a magic business and orders stuff from them for me. It's the only way I can get things from them. Since he is already placing an order, I just add my stuff to his in order to meet the minimum requirements. Mark. |

So if you are licensed within the city you work, then you should be fine? Is that correct? I’m not a magic shop, but I am licensing my name, so hopefully I will be able to order from them.

Great question, Ryan. I have no idea.
It'd be worth a try. Let us know what you find out. Mark. |

Now, if I can figure out a cheap, easy way to make hat tears. That old lady I have shackled in the basement is starting to get lippy.

I just started making my mouth coils. I never used them in my act before, but I am now putting them in. They are great and very easy to make. I use rubber cement on mine, and after reading this thread, I now know how tight to wrap them. My problem was they were tearing off about halfway through the uncoiling of them, and I think it was because they were wrapped too loosely, maybe?? I bought a wood dowel from Lowe's Hardware to wrap them on, so they should be nice and tight now. I also had a really hard time cutting them, but I am heading to Sears to get me a cutter like the ones showed on the links here. I did not even have to ask about them. This is great. Thank you all for the great info.
Thanks, Steven |

I just thought about something after my post...I have 2 dowels to use - one is 3/4" and the other is 7/8". Are these sizes OK, or too small, or too big?
And also, I just bought some tissue paper from a dollar store that is for Christmas. It is nice and shiny, but not too much in each packet. I bought 2 packages for a dollar, and there are 5 pieces in each package. They look really nice with this paper, too. Anyway, just thought I would add this and the question. Thanks Steven |

Greetings,
I make my own set of mouth coils, as I use it on every show. At first it was hard, but once you get used to it, "it's just a walk in the park". I use Japanese paper, and it comes in multiple colors depending on the season. I can do 5-7 mouth coils per hour, depending. I only use an ordinary "cutter" for cutting. Hope this helps! Sal |
