RED HOT COLD READING by Herb Dewey and Thomas K. Saville
MINDBLOWING PSYCHIC READINGS by Herb Dewey KING OF COLD READERS by Bascom Jones FULL FACT BOOK ON COLD READING by Ian Rowland CORINDA 13 STEPS The chapter on Cold Reading Every book by Richard Webster (he also has 2 videos, one on Psychic Reading and the other on Close-Up Mentalism, both sold by FLORA & Company). I think those books are more than enough to get you started. Max |

Jonnymaxx,
I own and recommend the following books: Full Facts Book of Cold Reading (awesome!) MindBlowing Psychic Readings Completely Cold (the technique can be integrated into any type of reading) SAR (based on some Jungian psychology) Wonder Readings Several of Webster's books as well as two of his audio CDs. I've heard that Red Hot Cold Reading is simply fantastic. Question: does anyone have a copy that he's willing to sell? I'll pay quite well for this book. - Richard |

All the suggestions are great! I have been reading full facts and love it. Get it while you can. I waited a good long time since it was out of print in edition 2 when I learned of it.

Agree with the above....for anyone interested in NLP. A little known source called the "motivational profile guidebook" is good for cold reading.
You can copy the profile and go out and profile as many peple as you can. What you will discover about them is fascinating. It uses metaprograms. It will give you an understanding of others unconscious drives. In a short while you will be able to spot others metaprograms during conversations or just watching them. This can be really useful in cold reading as you can tell them about how they might react in certain situations, their preferences etc,,not only that if you know something about NLP you will be able to feedback any info in such a way that fits into their metaprograms. Really good resource and pretty cheap at £29 you can get it from http://www.anglo-american.co.uk |

I prefer the first one, even if the second is more detailed. The first one is one I've used since its first publication (back in 1997) to help me to tailor surefire predictions about the sitter's future. Max |

Words That Change Minds is excellent and one of the things from NLP that I've found to be practically useful.
It might be worth you also looking at some of the Myers Briggs personality type indicator literature. A lot of this sounds just like cold reading to me. Look at http://www.personalitytype.com Nickelsun

Hi Max,
Where could I find the books you have listed? Thanks. Laura Hi Max, I just noticed that you've posted some NLP books, too - I have those - Figuring out People is rather extensive. I was curious about the other books you mentioned on Cold Reading RED HOT COLD READING by Herb Dewey and Thomas K. Saville MINDBLOWING PSYCHIC READINGS by Herb Dewey KING OF COLD READERS by Bascom Jones FULL FACT BOOK ON COLD READING by Ian Rowland CORINDA 13 STEPS The chapter on Cold Reading and now, knowing that you are also into NLP - how much are those books different than NLP? Thanks. Laura |
