Can anyone help me locate, purchase, buy, barter or beg a Nankin Tamasudare?
I had one for years, but very old and not so functional anymore. The only company I find in japan that has one and video never answers e mails in any language and phone is disconnected. Might think about making one, but finding the proper reeds here is not easy. So... Any help is appreciated! Dean

Could you please explain to those of us who don't speak Japanese, what you are talking about? Al Angello

I think he might be talking about a storytelling prop. It is basically a bunch of reeds lined up and tied to each other. By moving the reeds and maneuvering the "sheet" you can create different shapes (like cheapography kind of) and tell stories. This is much more versatile than I describe it (if that's what it is) I have seen Alain Nu do an amazing routine as part of his old stage act.
I would reccommend contacting UGM magic co in Japan http://www.ugm.co.jp or http://www.ugm.com Perhaps Steven's Magic Emporium could help http://www.stevensmagic.com or see if you can get in contact with Ton Onosaka (sp?) I think Alain might be a member on the Café.

Ken Scott did a brilliant routine with this at KIDabra 2009, about a week ago. And yes, it's available on Martin Lewis' website.
Does anyone know if there's a good video of a performance available anywhere online? TED |
