If I buy the plan, can I directly fabricate the prop? Or I have to make some modification.

Even the best plans tend to have a couple of errors in them... you should be very careful about slavishly following what's on the page.
There's also every chance you might have a good idea staring at those pages, so remain open to alterations!

Build a cardboard mock-up first. This should be easy with for the sub-trunk. It helps visualize just how big the prop needs to be, and easy to make changes.

If you can locate one, the "$49 Subtrunk" that was put out in the mid 90's was very good. It included:
step by step plans cost analysis sheet resource list for hardware a video that showed the building from the first cut to performance. The video was made like a Norm Abhrams show, showing each step. They were produced by Illusion Projects, but not the company of the same name now. |

There is more than one type of sub trunk. The packing case type, and the classic trunk type are the most common.
Osborne sells plans for both, the packing case type is the easiest to build. Also there are several different T*** placements. Top and back the most common. Think about how you want to present this before making a choice on type. If any chance of performing in a surround, or close to it the Top T*** is your best bet. I have seen plans as cheap as $10 on Ebay but I don't know what the quality is like. Check Magic Auction they have plans all the time at reduced prices. I would really invest in Osborne's Classic illusions book 1 - The plans for both trunks are in there and for only a little more than the cost of the individual plan. You may even find some other illusions you want to build. Good luck...
