I opened a box last night for the first time. The deck feels like a Tally-Ho deck to me, which means that it handles exceptionally well. Plus, the deck I opened was perfectly flat or unwarped, which is very important (to me anyway).
You have to be a hardcore card guy (or gal) to really appreciate the difference in the way certain decks handle. If all the Master Edition decks are like this one, I'm very impressed. Robert |

I am a hardcore cardguy but I am not a card collector. I get what is good to use and what is sufficient for my work and performing. Bicycles suit me fine and sometimes tally-hos.
I'm sure they feel great, but that's just like any other deck when they are first used. Its just a marketing tool for all the illusinist crowd. They hype up every deck they've had. Sooner or later even MASTER EDITION decks will wear out. They aren't everlasting. Everything is the same, its just that the finished is slightly different. |

There's another thread running simultaneously in the Workers section. Here's a link to my post, having now spent the past few hours with a Masters deck...

I destroy way too many cards to worry about stock and thickness and such. Between signed cards, torn and restoreds, and mercury card folds, regular rider backs work just absolutely fine. For me. I keep a pack or two of Tally-Ho Vipers around, but honestly I hardly ever pull them out for real people, unless I'm doing XCM to grab their attention. Once I got em, I switch to bikes. Vipers are pretty suspicious, no matter how much I let them inspect them.
Cheers!!!

Yes yes, they are a deck of cards. These cards are not double thick or anything, but the stock has definitly been upgraded. I got two bricks and I am happy with my purchase. These cards have a unique snap to them, like a tally ho. Truth is, people only recognize bike backs, so tally ho's are compromised by master's . Toomuchmagic you and I know ellusionist's marketing strategies all too well, but these cards seem to fan rather smoothly and have better stock. They do not fit into a standard porper clip comfortably, therefore they are thicker. If you can hold a deck with no jokers and tell the difference, you will feel the thickness these cards have. get them if you like this post.

The Magic Apple JUST received the Masters Edition Playing Cards! Nice looking cards with a cool box!
I have yet to break 'em inm but they seem pretty good! They are the ONLY magic shop in Southern California that does (and will ever) sell these decks! (plus we got in the Gaff Deck, the Glass DVD and more!!) |

I received 3 of the "Masters Edition" cards today. They are nice cards. The card stock is similar to the Ghost deck, perhaps a little thicker but with the same bright white finish. I am not especially excited about the redesigned ace of spades; it reminds me of the typical "Ride to Live - Live to Ride" eagle logos you see on many Biker’s accessories and t-shirts.
I showed these cards to my wife and mother-in-law and I also showed them a freshly opened box of regular bicycle cards. They could not identify the difference at all. When I pointed out the subtle thickness and card finish of the Masters deck to them, they still could not tell. If I closed my eyes and handled one card from each pack, I could tell which one was thicker. The same difference was noticed when I dribbled or riffled the deck in my hands. I do like the way they handle when I try the Over-hand or Hindu shuffle. They also dribble well. Maybe this is because they are fresh out of the box? Perhaps the quality will retain this “Fresh” feeling longer than a standard deck, as advertised. This remains to be seen. The so-called “Amped Up” card case, as E advertises, is a slightly heavier card stock than a standard Bicycle case. This is a positive improvement to put up with the rigors of a table-hopping conjurer. The one thing I do not like though is a “plug” for E---.com printed on the bottom. If I am performing with a “Regular” deck of cards, I do not want to give a skeptical spectator even the slightest hint that I am using a trick deck. Having a magic supplier’s name printed on the box isn’t so great. Magic Makers is guilty of this too with their Black Deck. Another note, which I had reservations about before; I cannot switch in my gaffed cards or decks with the Masters’ Deck. The card cases are different in the first place. True, the laymen may not notice the subtle difference, but why take a chance? (During my routine I sometimes “switch-out” a rising card or invisible deck. I also sneak in the Ultimate 3 Card Monte frequently). On the whole, these are good cards. They are not an earth-shattering, ground breaking, revolutionizing improvement that E claims in their over-hyped advertising. They are simply a good deck of cards. Are they worth the price? (they retail for $3.99) After shipping costs, that is pushing it a little unless you buy more than 3 at a time. The way I go through playing cards, perhaps I stick to my Regular Poker 808’s. |

I have to say, these feel no different to me than the Bikes I've been buying at my local Publix.
And the printing is really no better. Borders are still uneven.
It's all in the reflexes.

I just got mine and I see no difference in quality with a regular deck of Bicyles.
OK, a Masters deck (52 cards + 2 jokers) is about 1 or 2 cards thicker than a regular deck. Apart from that, I would love for people to point out why I paid more for these? Actually, I will be putting out my own special brand of cards. I call them "The Ultimate Masters Bicycle". They look just like Tally-Ho. Feel just like Tally-Ho. Handle just like Tally-Ho. Have the same back design as Tally-Ho. But I will call them by a different name and charge you more than a pack of Tally-Ho. |

Main points: I love the fact that they give you two regular jokers and not a guarantee. the guarantees were really ugly.

They are a bit pricy and as magicglen says, its like 20.00 for shipping! I don't really see a difference in quality. they just want to market it. they put a name like "UV AIR FLOW II" and sell tons.

A cool thing is that on the bottom next to the barcode, it says 2 of spades in a code. I'm not sure if its the same, but that's a cool addon.

You should see how thick they are compared to normal bikes - look how much taller on the sides the box is.

The only good thing about these is that you get two identical Jokers - which assists me a great deal as I perform Jumping Gemini featuring 'four' identical jokers AND Bizarre/Cros Twist.
But they are still as crap as normal Bikes when it come to attention to detail - (printing/cutting) etc (see other thread in "Workers") |

Okay here are my comment to the Masters Red Deck.
Ive bought only 2 packs of them to take a closer look at them (ive paid 3,99 Euro a pack, for a normal deck ive to pay 2,25 Euro at my fav dealer) As I can say from my point of view, they feel like Ghosts as said before. The handling is much smoother as normal bikes and the quality is good. I had trained some effect with them where faro shuffles and palming is involved for about 3hrs and they are still in good condition. In my eyes a def. plus. The pack iam currently using is approx 7 days old and it´s still top condition. I use to train with cards approx. 2-3 hours a day.I really like them because here in germany bicycle cards are not commen,so I switched the Masters for the Ghosts because people here (in germany) are thinking that the Ghosts are gimmicked cards even if they had checked them twice. best regards Jerry |
