I am thinking about ordering a Gazzo Poacher's Pouch for my own cups and ball routine. Does anyone have the dimensions? I need to make sure that it will work with the routine that I do.

I don't have the dimensions- I could measuer mine, but unless you are loading more than six oranges and a melon, I think you'll be fine.

If you load more, or have a routine that incorporates something different that requires a larger bag, ask when you order. The pouches are made by Gazzo, so he can probably customize whatever you need.

Also, his pouch is the largest pouch I have seen or worked with.

Chris,

I might be tempted to contact Frank Starsini. He's making really the new wave of busking pouches. Beautifully hand made. And he's got a fair price for them.

I will second Robert, Frank Starsini's pouches are very well make, plenty of room and sell for a reasonable price.

If you're using a bowling ball it might require a copmletely different type of pouch.
it might fit in my new pouch without issue as it's pretty darn big but the weight might require some modification depending on how you wish to get the ball out of the pouch.

if you want something that really works, you're probably looking at a custom job.

It seems, without putting in too much thought, that you'd want the ball to "float" in the pouch so you could reach under it and lift it up. you might also want laces that would release and open the pouch up very wide just at the right time.

.. or my pouch might work just fine as is. if you're serious let me know and I'll take it down to the alley and drop a ball in and snap a foto of me loading it under a cellini cup.

The other thing to consider with Frank's pouches (one reason his pouch is on my Christmas wish list) is that he sews extra "pockets" and such into and around the pouch.

Cards, coins, sharpies etc, they've all got a spot right on the pouch (vs. just laying loose in the pouch where they can interfere w/business.

Photos

There are 11 different pics of his pouch, loaded, unloaded, side, top, front etc. Man it's a thing of beauty.

Why not use the holes, I think it would be pretty easy (easier) to load, when you put the fingers in those holes in the ball, right?

Hey, you're right. the holes. that does seem to be the likely method.
why didn't I think of that obvious method.

If you put your fingers in the holes in the Bowling Ball how are you going to get the final loads inside the Bowling Ball?

Oh . . . never mind.

Here are a couple of things to consider.

A bowling ball weighs 6 to 16 pounds. A 6 pound bowling ball makes just as big an impression on an audience as a 16 pounder. They are the same size. However, if you carry an 6 pound weight around your waist for any length of time, you will throw your back out of alignment. You will need a completely different kind of rig.

What are you going to produce it from? A bowling ball is between 8.5 and 8.6 inches in diameter. There will be two things immediately noticeable to the audience. One is that you will need a really big round object to pull it out of, the other is that it will make your pouch bulge like crazy.

I'm sure it will be effective, but I don't think a pouch is the place to get it from. I used to produce a bowling ball during two of my shows at various times during my career. Getting the ball is the least of your problems. Figuring out how to "arrange" and control it are the real problems.

All the mechanics are already worked out, I have been performing this for about six years. I just need a new pouch that is a little bit nicer than the one I currently use.
