Hi Guys,
I've recently put together a new look for my website ( http://www.roslynwalker.com ). I'd like to add more pictures of me doing the various sideshow stunts that I perform, although I don't want to give away too much and blow the surprise and impact. So far I perform Human Blockhead, various animal trap things (hand in gin trap or rat trap, mouse trap on tounge) and Head Flossing. Any advice would be great. Thanks, Ros

Hi Roslyn
Like the new site, looking good. Clean, and easy to navigate. I wonder where you got the line "This is circus theatre for the 21st century" from? I have to say, it really is oddly similar to my tag line "This is circus cabaret for the 21st century". David

Sorry David. Didn't realise.
I'll get rid of it. I thought I'd come up with a winner too. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Did you have any thoughts on pics? Do you think I need to add any? Again my sincere appologies. Ros

Hi Ros
No problem. Its probably stuck when you saw it on my page, at least I know my lines are working on peoples subconscious The site looks good, just keeping adding the photos as you get them. Cheers David

All sorted mate, and thanks for not going off the deepend. Many would have.
I didn't mean to use a line you'd already written. During the re-design process I went through loads of websites to try find inspiration and a starting point. Hopefully the new line still describes what I do. Take care and thanks for taking the time to have a look, Ros

I think most of the people who visit your website will fall into two categories: 1. People who are looking to hire you and want to know more about your act. 2. People who have seen your act and want to know more about you personally. People who are looking to hire you will want to know everything about your act. They will want to know EXACTLY what you plan to do on-stage. People who have seen you perform already know about the surprises in your routine. If you got some good action shots, put 'em on the website. |

Thanks.
That makes a whole load of sense when you put it like that. Ros

There's also the old adage, "Leave them wanting more."
Being in sales, part of the goal is to give them enough to make them "hungry," or interested, enough to call for more information. This, then, gives me the opportunity to qualify (question) them and find out just what they are looking for so I will know what obstacles I must overcome "to make the sale." Give enough to make them interested or curious. Then you will be able to talk to them and possibly get a gig (sale) out of it. If you give them everything on a distant web site, and answer all their questions that way, you will never know how many opportunities you might have had. Just my 2 cents! Mark. |

Thanks again Mark,
I'll just have to experiment and see what happens. Cheers, Ros
