I have no idea what they are called and that's the purpose of this post. I'm sure you've seen these in stores on toys, advertisements, videos and on cereal boxes. Some stickers have them too.
They are an image covered with thin rippled plastic and when you look at the image and tilt it the image will turn into a different image. I have an idea that might work if I can get this custom made. But I can't find anyplace that makes them because I have no idea what they are called. So I can't even search for them. I tried but I can't find anything on it. Does anyone happen to know what they are called and where I might find a place that custom makes them with my own images? Thanks. Ron Jaxon |

Let me try to be more clear on this. I got a couple of PM's that link to a magic effect in which the image changes.
This one I think that's pretty neat but I'm not looking for a magic effect here. I'm looking for something to make a magic effect out of. I don't know though. Maybe that trick uses the principle I'm looking for. Let me try to explain. Have you ever been out to rent movies (DVD's) and see a DVD cover where the picture on the case changes as you walk by? I recall seeing something (I think it was a notebook cover) that had a picture of Spiderman on it. Tilt it and the picture changes to Spiderman shooting his web. What I need to do is find a way to make these so I can make my own two images change as it's tilted. I hope it's not to confusing.. Ron Jaxon |

Jaxon,
I understand your plot very well! Unfortunatly, I don't have the name for this stuff. It's like the picture is composed of hundred of thin nylon threads, and you have a part of a picture drawn on one face of it, right? So if you change the picture orientation, you get the second picture. I too, would be interested to know the name of this technic. |
