Where would I get a set of street cups that have been used extensively. I like the look of cups that have been "worked". The older, more dented the better!

Get a set of Harries Bosco cups and a ballpeen hammer.

Remove the finish from the cups and go to town.

I am not sure that anybody specializes in what you are looking for. From time to time, you can find used cups on Ebay. Also you can post in the tricks and effects for sale or trade forum under WTB. Perhaps contacting the manufacturer of the cups you like to see if they have a set that is dented may be a good idea. I think that the opposite problem is more common, that is, finding cups that look nice, especially if budget is an issue. If it is not, you can always get your favorite set of cups in new condition and season them accordingly. If you are interested, I can give you a few ideas.

I have a set of these huge copper flower pot cups that I picked up from Gary Animal that I believe may be just that (Bosco's from Harries). These are the most well-loved (ha-ha) cups I have ever seen, and they are a real joy to use. They make you feel like you are performing in 1870.

Those skirts look a bit shorter than Harries Boscos.

Neat cups, though!

See if Tom Frank will post a picture of his well used cups. The do look like they have been worked over with a ball peen hammer.

Mr. Frank moved to South CA last month. He may still be digging out from the move and settling in. I am sure he will surface again.

I am going to be selling a well used set on ebay soon. They are Frank Starsini's old set of Animal Babes. They are beautiful with the natural old patina. I love these cups, but I am not going to have any place to use large cups in the future. I will PM you when I post them for sale. I'm not sure how soon that will be as I am very busy at this time.

Best regards,

Go to the big auction site from time to time and do a search on cups.

First of all Bill knows what he's talking about when it comes to cups so you'll do really well taking his advice. Now that I got that out of the way I wanted to mention that I just got my Penguin cups..(yes Penguin cups) I'm on a budget..and they actually made me very pleased for 100 bucks. The reason I'm mentioning them here is because I noticed that rather quickly, (within a week) of getting them they got that very worn look to them. I know these cups arn't highly sought out by the connoiseur, but I certainly can't tell a difference. I really wanted a cup that had that worn look and felt good to handle. After about a week of practicing with these cups the copper completely dulled and got that worn look and color that the cups in the above picture have..Ok maybe I just wanted to talk about how happy I am with my penguin cups...I'm sure when I can afford it I'll be going for some Gazzo cups and maybe the Phoenix cups as well. If your interested I'll try to take a picture of my trusty penguin or "Faux Cups". (thanks to Bill's museum I've been educated on the other name for these) -Amon

Shudder. Considering how much shipping I paid for my Bosco Cups...that makes me cringe.
