I posted this in the Mentalism section hoping to find out who to pick for Derren Brown's verbal 3 of Diamonds force, but I figured you all would have some input too.
I was rewatching some clips from Derren Brown's "Trick of the Mind," and in one of them (the one where he makes himself "invisible"), he mentioned that film students tend to be more suggestible than your average person. This stirred up some interest in me. Are there certain professions or personalities that naturally lend themselves to effects based on suggestion? I read in one of Luke Jermay's books (I think it was Building Blocks) about a test he gives with a pendulum to find which person at the table is most likely to work with him on a suggestion routine. As good an idea as this is, are there other subtle techniques that you all use to find the right helper right off the bat? |

Watch his hands when he does the routine. Watch them VERY closely. If they are off camera, read his first book. He explains the routine in there fully.
