I tell all the scammers to send me check. So far none have done so. If they did, I would just fowarded it to the FBI. I would never deposit it.

Sorry Jim, I ran across this today:

AP : (Delhi, India) The theme was wild western magic, as American magician Wild Billini (William Belman) introduced the expansion of the top motorcycle company, Hero-Honda, in India today. What will go down in the record books as the highest paid fee for a single magic trick, he is said to have received $70,000,000. As over 50 million people watched worldwide, Billini transformed a 125 cc motorcycle into two new brand ambassadors. This will be the first in a series of promotions for the Texas born magician, as he has now become the face of Hero-Honda in the East. But according to Bellini, his luck was brought on by a hoax. "I wasn't their first choice", Bellini told AP reporter Punji Urdoo, "The magician they initially asked, apparently thought the email request was a scam. The promoters (RAMS Relationships) had promised a cowboy theme, and I fit the bill".

does the ap actually report in india?

Sure, they are a global organization. What does your question imply? It appears that your cynicism has effected your ability to accept the truth. Maybe you should ask "Wild Billini" for confirmation. Smile

(Dang it! I thought for sure, calling it a "magic trick" instead of an "effect", would cover my tracks.)

Josh, is it Billini or Bellini? I googled all those names and no matches. Go figure Smile

Ha! Christian, If I need a proofreader I'll get in touch with you. You have a good eye for detail, and obviously too much time on your hands. Smile

I'm beginning to think that Josh's avatar must not be him... maybe he's in India and he called us.. Seems like he know to much about the rest of us... maybe he works for the CIA of India!!

on a side note...

Yes, Mr. Jim David sir. I will happily help you sir, for a 10 dollar fee which will be added to your next phone bill. This is a one time fee and will bring your account current. Is this acceptable to you Mr. Jim David?

No, he thought you were talking to someone else when you said "Mr. Jim David" as his name is Jim Davis. Very nice slave tone. LOL! Why don't you throw a "yassah" in there. Smile

Go practice your Chink-a-Chink, Randy! I was just trying to sound like that lovable Star Wars character, Jar-Jar Binks.

BTW the name was an intentional mispronunciation. You should hear the attempts at my name that I get on the phone. It's hard to guess how to say Superfluous, if your first language is Urdu.

Now now Jim, let's be politically correct. It's not "India", it's "Native America".

(What was this thread about? Oh well, the more off track it gets, the more money for me....er... I mean the scammers.)

I think Barry's phone call might have been a scam.

Thought I should check in here and see what was going on. Lots of silliness and fun from what I read.

Scammers ....may they rot in the deepest parts of telephone solicitation hell. Where it is always four in the morning and your phone doesn't stop ringing.

I'm glad I straightened that out before you got back Barry. I guess the lesson to be learned is: if they're in a big hurry to fly you out, and their client has a lot of money, it shouldn't be hard to Western Union you the cash up front.
