Anyone see Harry on Bill Maher's Real Time last night.
No offense intended, but he looked old and tired. This Katrina thing has obviously gotten to him. He and his wife are packing up and moving to North Carolina. For the first time I saw The Hat's spirit broken. Harry is one of my heros, and it wasw hard to see him so sad. Harry if you're out there...take heart. Oh, yeah Penn was on too...he didn't say much. I think he was collecting an easy paycheck. ~SG |

Harry seems happy and the Ashville North Carolina area is really beautiful. Lot of magic in that Blue Ridge Parkway.

I'm just over the mountains from there - about an hour away. We look forward to having Harry here.

I had the very great and awesome pleasure to meet Harry during the winter after hurricane Katrina....
I was THERE, in the French Quarter during those dark, unsure, beginning days...The regrouping...the scrambling...The 'who knows what the h#ll will come next..." days... I got to visit with Harry privately in his shop (SideShow), and see him perform some of his old routine at Oswalds.... New Orleans is a MUCH poorer place losing Harry Anderson... He was the voice of Reason for N.O....He held 'Town Hall' meetings in Oswalds...He attempted to bring the local Gov. and the public together.. He TRIED!! Harry gave his all to attempt to bring N.O. back to it's greatness.... If he has decided, for his and his families own well-being, to bail out of New Orleans, then I don't see it as him being 'tired' or 'old'... I see it as a reasoned and thought out, pragmatic conclusion to a situation that he has come to a, beyond anyone on this board could fathom, response to the actual situation and real world reality of New Orleans today.... I wish Harry and Elizabeth nothing but the BEST in everything they seek to accomplish in N. Carolina.... Lord knows they deserve the best!! God Bless Harry the Hat! Prof. Piper (Terry)

"Night Court" was great, but I liked him best when he was in character on "Cheers." I hope he does well in NC.

He is one the main reasons I became interested in magic as a kid. I wish him well.

Harry should do a Hello Sucker vol 2 - I get tears whenever I watch the shell game from his Hello Sucker video. Good stuff I tell ya.
P.S. Does anyone know where I can pick up one of those secret locking jack-knives he used in one of the scams he did with Dan Feilding (cant remember his real name, so I will call him Dan from NightCourt)?

That was John Larroquet. Sorry, I don't know where to get the knives. For some reason I recall the name "Enardoe" associated with them but I could be wrong.

Not Enardoe, but the locking knives do bear a striking resemblance to the color changing knives with that name attached. I've never owned Enardoe CCKs, and they may be made from them. I PMed info on where to get that particular "magic locking" knife.
