Don,
I know the pass DVD is forthcoming, and I don't want to cut into your sales, but do you have any advice you could offer for those of us trying to master the pass? Which pass (passes?) do you prefer? What was your approach to practicing the move? What are the most common errors you see people make? etc. etc.

I like most passes. I would divide them into groups, classic, turnover, riffle etc.
The left thumb placement is very important. The gravity pass must be Mastered, that is just gravity and No push or pull. On must do the pass most suited to the situation. Expect to put Much time in. Have someone who does the move well help you. No reason learning if you don't plan on doing in your work. It is a lifetime assignment. And the truth is IMO not everyone can do it. I don't practice the pass much, you don't have to do it 100 times a day, you don't have to do 60 in one minute, most of the info out there is wrong, and find a cover that is natural to you. I practice the double lift much more than the pass. And finally, you must not be married, you can't have a job, you can't have children, and you must Live to do an invisible pass that No one can see. If you can do these things you are on your way. |

Hmmm Don, do you think we can settle for a MOSTLY invisible pass and still have a wife??
But seriously the part about having someone help is good advice, as it helps you see the different styles out there. thanks Don

Hi Don,
In addition to groupings you mention, it would seem that there is another division: passes that depend on cover and those that depend on speed. The latter type has relatively few exponents, Krenzel, Dingle, etc. I feel that the best use for this type of pass is for occasions where you want the specs burning you as when they see the face up ambitious card appear to melt through to the top. Will you be discussing this type of pass on your DVD? Best regards, Tony |
