I will be performing in Galveston soon, probably on a weekly basis and I am working on getting some acts in houston as well, might perform one at the local IBM ring as soon as I get approval letter. (i just joined a few weeks ago, so I have to wait for the acceptence in the mail)

Nice one! Go for it.
I will be performing an Escape for our Johannesburg Magic Circle before the end of this month as my entrance performance to become a member. Everyone is excited because they have never seen an actual escape before. So I know how you must feel about doing this. Excited as Hell! Regards Wolflock

I will do that thanks Mick. I think I am the only entertainer in SA history to Ever join to Circles without performing one bit of Magic for the innitiation. :o)

Alright so for one of my shows, I am opening for a hypontist, I forgot his name, I will post it later if any one cares. So what kind of escape could I do. I have been thinking this long and hard. Should I even bother relating them or not bother? Thanks for the input.

Well, what escape do you normally find captures their imaginations and attention more? What do you normally perform?

Well most of my escapes are using ropes, chain or a straight jacket, and I also have some cages and related stuff. So I guess an escape behind the curtain would work, since it make them think how I got out.

My opinion is that the more visual. the more the audience fights for you to get out. Like watching a sport. So I tend to go more for a Right in front of you approach. Chains and such with that is nice. If done behind a curtain or such I find that everyone seems to think that it is a magic trick of some sort. But that is just my opinion.

Go with something simple, with which you can kick some serious *ss. Do it in the open, so no curtains, no cabinets, no boxes. That way, the audience can see you, and identify with your position. Work it as hard as you can, even if you could slip out of it in a few seconds.
You didn't tell us what kind of venue you're performing in, or the length of time you need to fill. This can make a huge difference.

Well this isn't my first escape, I have been in the art for about 2 years.
All I have been told by the manager is that I will be opening for a hypnotist, for a college of about 1700. So it will be on stage, an audience of around 300-500 people. ANd I will probably keep it under 30 minutes. I think I will go with a strait jacket and 20ft of chain. Very visual and uses two member of the audience. And if time permits a couple of lulus strength challenges. I will record it as well, to post here. It will be on Sep 21. -I also have other things commming up, but I have those already set for the most part. I was jsut trying to get an idea, since I have never opened for a hypnotist. thanks |

The video will be up later friday. It was my first show in about 5 months (i took summer off, so I was rusty. plus I had a time constraint.)
But it went pretty well, the audience loved it, and that's all that matters. Heck they wanted me to do more after the show, but it was late. So they will just have to wait for me to have a show of my own later this year. I know I know, I should have worked it more, but the time factor didn't help, and for a while there I was really fightin to get loose. And I have never been tied around the legs, which makes it a lot easier. Most guys go for the arms. my next show will be better, since I will be better prepared and in more control. |

didn't realize the video was out of range, in some spots, but nothing to important, and the sound isn't the best. For some reason the mic is on the top. Critizme welcomed. the more the better (usually). Just don't be rude please. |

Yes it was. don't want to talk about it. :o( I was not happy.
The Escape Went great but... Packed in my Computer and all for my music. Got there and realised, Oops, I forgot my screen. No screen around so I had to do it without my music. I am STILL upset with myself for that. Regards Wolflock
