Hi all,

I have been considering putting together all my magical booklets from the past into one large volume. As I go back over my copies of my originals or extras, I find that I do not even have copies of some of my material, nor do I remember everything I published. This was made evident to me at the recent TAOM convention where someone asked me to autograph a copy of one of my books, and I didn't even remember it, until I paged through it. I guess I'm getting old. In any event, I thought I'd provide here a list of the items I can remember, or still have, and ask for anyone who has one or more of my booklets to let me know of any items left out. Most of the stuff was published in the late 60's and through the 70's and 1 or 2 items in the early 80's.

If I still have extra copies of anything I placed a number in brackets as to how many I think I have [x].

So here is the list:

  1. FFF Control System (Flip Flop Flourish)
  2. The KS Control System (I no longer even have the original of this)
  3. The Necromancer (magic magazine) (16 issues were published) [50 misc)
  4. The Ultimate Card Book #1 [3]
  5. The Ultimate Card Book #2 [5]
  6. The Ultimate Card Book #3 [4]
  7. The Ultimate Card Book #4 [25]
  8. Maxi-Twist I
  9. Maxi-Twist II (I have no original or copies of this)
  10. Innovative Magic 1 (forward by John Braun) [2]
  11. Innovative Magic 2 (forward by Dai Vernon) [5]
  12. Innovative Magic 3 (forward by Wilbur Kattner) [20]
  13. Monte Gone (had some prepared cards with it) [3]
  14. The Prediction [15]
  15. Collision [3]
  16. Slow Motion Ace Switch-a-roo (no longer have even an original)
  17. Bonus Extra (no copies, not even original)
  18. Smith Lecture Notes #1 (I have no copies of these)
  19. Smith Lecture Notes #2 (I have no copies of these)
  20. Smith Mini-Lecture notes
  21. Faro Sorcery Trilogy #1 (1 copy, no original)

One other clue. Someone (I can't remember who) told me they had 25 items in their collection, that I had published. As you can see from the above, I'm only coming up with 21.

Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide.

Cheers,
Roger

Thanks. I'll be interested to see these as I have no recollection of what they are.
I also remembered another item, that I left off the list:

22. The Dream (came with special card)

See you Monday.

Cheers,
Roger

Someone else just reminded me of the "Blankety-Blank-Blanks" manuscript which was a packet trick, if I recall. I don't have any copies or the original of this so I'm not even sure of the exact effect.
Cheers,
Roger

I assume the Smith Notes is a set of lecture notes, but I don't recall which one this is. Could you give me a list of the effects that are in the item to help me refresh my memory. I used to prepare custom notes for each lecture, so I really don't know how many differents sets I created. Thanks.
Cheers,
Roger

I found the original of a mss called "The SMith Lecture Notes", but it does not have the same list of tricks as your's has. I guess I must have none several versions of that booklet. I don't find the "Who let go" or "Case Minus One" in the copy I have. To be honest I don't have any memory of what these two tricks are based on the titles. Could you give me a very short one sentence review of the effect of each of those.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Roger

Roger, here you go

Case Minus One -
An odd backed card is placed into a black card case. The case is closed. A card is chosen from a deck that does not match the odd card. Its face is signed and it is placed into the black card case also. The case is given to the specatator who when he opens it finds only his signed card. The odd back card is not there. But wait. He turns his card over and finds it is the odd back card. It is also the card that he signed. Everything can be examined.

Who Let Go -
A chinese coin with a hole in it is placed on a rope by magic since each end is being held securely by a spectator. The magician asks them who let go? The both deny that they did. A humorous interlude.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I remember them now that you jog my memory. In fact for the Case Minus One I even has some new variants including just using a regular card box that the cards come in rather than a card case as in the original.
Cheers,
Roger

Anyone have a list of the effects Roger sold through Joe Berg in California in the 70's?

There were a few different items that I sold through Joe Berg. They were each packaged in an envelope with some instructions. I don't have any recollection other than that as to what they were. I'm pretty sure the date was 1970 or 1971. I was working the Castle at that time.

Have any other publications turned up? I have noticed som alternate page counts on some of the publications, but haven't been able to tell if they are edition differences or just typos in some listings I have run across on line.

Thanks for all the info

Yes there are alternate page counts because I would sometimes reprint when I ran out of an edition, and then do edits if I knew of typos, etc. So sometimes that would change the page counts. I'm still missing 4 or 5 mss.

Roger
