Well, unless you're friends with Reed and you get him to teach it to you, I believe the only other place it's published is on his video.
And this effect rocks so I suggest you purchase it!

It is worth the money to get the video. Reed also will be releasing a DVD soon. I think that his twist will be on it(please correct me if I'm wrong).
Reed makes his living from magic, and his twist is an awesome release to the community. Give him your support by purchasing his trick!

The best place to ever learn it besides from the man himself, is the video. Reed is a great guy who works hard at what he does.
Check out his video if you get the chance. Also, included on the video is an interesting coin routine. |

I would agree with everyone else. Bite the bullet and spend the cash.

Better yet...visit his web site at http://www.reedmcclintock.com.
Reed was a guest here at the Café earlier this year; he's unfailingly generous with his time and his insights. In addition, Oscar Munoz demonstrated the Twist at the recent MAES convention. It floored the audience; you had about 100 magicians all practicing one move for several hours afterwards.

Hello everyone,
Sorry it took me a while to respond here, I am out of the state and not near my home computer. I have been very busy this holiday season. Thank you for your patience. The twist is on a video by Chazpro magic. I hope to buy the rights back in the near future. I would like to reshoot the project with all of the new finesses and touches etc. When I do buy it, I would like to do it on DVD. This is something pretty far out right now however. I am in the process of getting several DVDs prepared and shot on DVD. I will keep you all posted. Cheers everyone, and thank you all again for the very kind words. |

Jimthegreatone?
I'm sorry - but this is exactly the kind of posting that should have been deleted - A public appeal to learn something everyone is paying for? I applaude Mr McClintock for his reserve - The reason he made this effect public, is to make a buck before someone else "invented" it and marketed it. Best of luck Dave |

I pretty much agree with Dave. I don't know that the post should have necessarily been deleted, but it was a nice surprise to see Reed personally respond to that email!
Bet that jimthegreatone was slightly embarrased Kudos to Reed for his polite reply! Jim, I'm new to the magic community myself. Don't try to find "shortcuts" to learning magic. Your efforts will not be supported by the community at large. Pay the money and take the time to LEARN magic. You'll be better off in the long run. |

Wow. I didn't think he meant he didn't want to buy it, but that he didn't want it on video. Funny how people can take things completely different. I thought He wanted a manuscript or something...like he's a better "book" learner that video(I am..maybe that's why I assumed that.) Weird.

I really don't want to buy any videos, please tell me where I can learn it..." Sounds pretty clear to me what he wants, given that those are his only words and it is a first posting. I don't want this new member to get scared off by us, however. That being said, the McClintock Twist is a true piece of magic that also functions as visual art. I for one, feel that the best way to learn this effect is through video. Trying to describe his twist in words does not do it any real justice. Reading about art is one thing, but to see it is a different experience all together. Reed's twist is true art not just card art!!! He developed it over the course of several months after he had only been in magic for approximately 2 years. This just goes to show what practice and dedication can lead to even for someone who is relatively new to the wonderful world of magic. Good luck getting it onto DVD format Reed.

Sorry if my original reply came off a little harsh. I didn't mean for it to.
I simply wanted to let Jim know that there are people out there who don't take kindly to learning the "secret" without supporting the original creator. It was his first post after all, and I think we would all agree that we did not want to scare him away - just educate him a little bit! Good luck Jim! |
