There have been a few illusions recently, that have the base disguised as a trolley. Stack of Boxes is a classic example, but there are others. What I want to know is are there any that use the vertical section for load space also. A bit like half a Palanquin illusion.

Another would be Shadow Theatre, by Jim Steimeyer. It can be found in his book, Modern Art and Other Mysteries. In fact plan on building this in the near future.

Jim Steinmeyer also has an illusion in Device and Illusion which uses this principle. I forget the name, but it involves a box on a trolley, which is split into several sections. These several sections are mixed around and pulled out and reassembled, to then have a lady climb out.

Steinmeyer is the king of "spreading the load"!:)

Steinmeyer's illusion is called Small Packages.

What's the plot of small packages?

Basically a small wooden die grows in size and then a lady is produced. It is an updated version of Buatier DeKolta's illusion.

Anyone performing this as far as you guys know?

In the same book, there's the effect called "The Girl in the Puzzle". I think that's the illusion Magic Finger is talking of in the book "Device and Illusion"
