Ok--
Fans of sid and marty kroft, how many of you guys as kids used to watch LIDSVILLE? Remember Charles Nelson Reilly as the green magician who flew on a magic hat and there was a town of all hats? I thought you might like a flash from the past! Ellen |

I loved the show, but never really understood why hoo-doo wanted to destroy the hats so badly, and if he wanted that, why he didn't just do it.

Don't ever forget what put Sid and Marty out of business, they had some great show back in the days.

I remember far more than I should about Lidsville. I even have a couple of full episodes on DVD.
First, what Hoodoo actually wanted the hats in Lidsville to do was pay taxes to him. When they refused, he would always send the bad hats after them, or some other such thing. At Hoodoo's place you could find odd things like the Hat Band and the Weather Bureau (a bureau drawer in which each drawer could produce some kind of weather) and even Weenie Genii (didn't Harry Anderson put that out? <G>), who lived inside Hoodoo's ring. BTW, Lidsville wasn't the only magic-based series that Sid & Marty Krofft did. How many remember Magic Mongo, and Wonderbug (magic horn)? I'd think H. R. Pufnstuf would count, as well. |

Flashback is right.
How many handfuls of acid soaked sugar cubes do you think Sid and Marty ate on a daily basis? 4-5 handfuls? I'll bet those guys munched acid the way some people munch peanuts.

On the topic of dear Sid and Marty,
I find myself wondering what actors who appeared in S&M K productions have gone on to appear in bigger and better. While I can think of seceral actors who appeared as a low point in a winding down career, I can only think of two up. Jack Wilde of HR Puffenstuff and Louise Du'Art of Captain Kool and the Kong who appeared on braodway and hosted a short lived game show on some cable net work. any others.

Johnny--as a child also born in the age of aquariums 1970-- I do have those freaky experiences too.
BUT get this--Will ferrell fans--HE is going to play Marshall in the new movie the LAND OF THE LOST!!! Ok...who is going to play Chaka? Maybe Chris Kattan (as mr. peepers) Holly>?? Will>?? Poorly animated dinosaurs>??? Sleestaks> Christopher walken, ... (MORE COW BELL!) I can't wait to see this--can't believe this would be a movie. Ellen PS) My kids LOVE Pufnstuff--I think it is our DUTY as children of the seventies to share this with our kids--it's so freakish and entertaining, it was awesome. |

You are aparently not alone. According to IMDB Judy gave up screen work when threatened by a stalker.
Pretty as she is, I though Dyna-girl was both hot and ridiculous
