It's a pretty good feature called "Decoding the Past", one hour long, documenting the history of the playing card and the tarot, and dispelling a lot of myths along the way.
A must view ! http://www.history.com/shows.do?action=d......d=187039 As an aside, they also have a thing on Witchcraft, here's a page with a bunch of short videos: http://www.history.com/media.do?mediaTyp......tchcraft

My nickname for the "History Channel" is "The Crazy Conspiracy Channel".
Any speculation these guys make that is not straight down the well worn path of accepted textbook history is usually nutty and sensational and way off the deep-end. That aside, I'd love to see that program! G

The History channel's documentaries will cite a conspiracy theory, but not as fact - they simply cover the fact that conspiracy theories exist, often with a healthy dose of skepticism. If you change the channel too soon though, you might be led to believe that they were perpetuating a myth or conspiracy theory.
For example, in this special, they report that many believe that Tarot cards originated in Egypt (thus came from the Gypsies), and that modern playing cards evolved from them, etc.. but then they dispell those common misconceptions by having historians and experts set the record straight. It was very informative and interesting.. downright edutaining, you might say !

That special was FANTASTIC! One of the best I've seen.
