My Daughter used to have a Pug as well as my Sister.
Pugs are great Family dogs and are wonderful with children. My Best Friend Murphy was half Pug (sire) and half Lapso Apso (dame) (forgive my spelling). Murphy looked like 100% Pug except for the fact that he had a regular snout not a Pug nose. I take it Ellen that you either have a Pug or are thinking of getting one? Murphy passed away about a year ago so I will never own another Pug or any dog that looks like Murphy. But I highly recommend Pugs as a loyal Friend. -Iven

My wife wants a pug, but we already have two Labradors that are house dogs. (YIKE!)
Originally I wanted a Pit bull / Saint Bernard mix. I figured if I had one of those and it tore my arm off, it go for help too! Thank you! I'm here all week - Try the Veal! Lyndel P.S. Here are our doggies both current and past: http://tinyurl.com/862ut |

My wife wants a pug too. Must be a wife thing. If anyone wants an older, overweight, perpetually stinky basset hound, with a bad personality, PM me. I'll pay freight (although it would be very expensive).

Just thought I would correct my bad spelling.
The breed is correctly spelled Lhasa Apso (I had to look it up). -Iven

I had a choice between a pug and a Jack Russell. They were both cute and were trying to look their best in the window. I ended up with the Jack Russell. I think he needs his own prescription for Ritalin now that I've gotten to know him better. Maybe I should've gone with the pug after all.

Those Jack Russells are nuts. My buddy has one. Its two favorite toys are a rock the size of a grapefruit and an regulation tossing horseshoe.

I have heard as well that Jack Russells are super hyper! They are just high strung little balls of energy! By brother has one and it makes me tired just watching it play!

Pugs are the best--I had 2, one just went on to the great beyond in June. Peaches still exists and is a great dog. Pugs in general are the best pets for people who like pets who like their owners. Incredible with kids.
Funny that I did read up on jack russells and knew not to get one because of the hyperness. I may foster a rescue greyhound soon...we'll see. Ellen |

A buddy of mine is a rescued greyhound junkie. He's on his fifth. So sweet and quiet.

Why do pugs have flat noses?
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |
