A very unique magnetic base with a magnetic pop up piece was shown to me by a friend who had purchased it in Holland about 30 years ago. The base has a hole in the center, in which is placed a stack of magnets which are glued together. The magnetic tension has to be just right so the stack remains inside the unit. When a separate magnet is thrown onto the base, the middle stack jumps out and lands on the base.
I have seen it used as a card reveal. A card is placed on the base. A magnet (to which a head can be attached) is thrown onto the base and the stack of magnets (body) jumps out and lands on the base. I have been told this is a Taytelbaum item, but would be interested in other thoughts as to the origin of this kind of unit. I have made several of them and I know this description may be difficult to follow. I tried to post a picture but it was too large. If you would like a picture, I will send you one, just let me know. |

David,
this sounds very confusing. Is this a box where a card is jumping out? Andy
