I got one and put it aside at first. A very competent friend has recently told me that he's getting an incredible reaction with it. I think you need to add a deck switch and a false shuffle and you'll end up with a really killer routine.
It's basically a very strong Triumph routine where the FU/FD mixture is spread, showing that the cards are REALLY mixed FU/FD. The deck is respread and the cards are now all FU. The killer is that they are in order with four aces, followed by four 2's etc. Many of the FU cards are "normal" and could be extracted for another routine as the "tricky" stuff is pocketed. This really sells the normality of the deck. I'm going to give it another run. I think I overlooked a winner. Mike

I was never fond if this because although the effect is good the method itself is not. While I am sure one could come up with a better method I have not bothered to try. However, for a similar effect I would suggest looking at Wesley James' Wishuffle. Although it doesn't end with the deck in order, the routine itself is strong enough that this is not needed.

I like the effect, but never got around to buying it. After reading this I'm sure it could be made "performable."

Make your own! It is the same principle as the Cheek to Cheek Deck. I have a great reaction from the people I have performed it for. Do a deck switch and you are set to continue afterward. I think it makes a great opener! I made my own. Make yours!

Yeah, God-forbid you should PAY the creator of the effect. This is NOT the same as a Cheek-to-Cheek deck. While the PRINCIPLE is kinda the same, Bammo is MUCH more complicated. Don't be a cheap-skate. Spend the lousy 20 bucks, so that you have the RIGHT to perform it.

One of the unique features of the Bammo is that the cards look mixed in a face up spread. Then, after a FU/FD shuffle, not only are they all FU but they are in order with all aces first, then all 2's etc. You can't really do this with a Cheek to Cheek approach.

I have the effect. I performed it a few times and then took a second look at my effects and dropped this one in a heart beat. Good idea for an effect, though I would recommend it for a starting magician.

You should look again, Mike. I use this as a finale to my card act. A quick deck switch, the effect is performed, and the deck is instantly in the order in which it started. The act comes full circle.

Michael Close reviewed this in a past issue of "Magic" Magazine. He liked it and like dpe666, he started using it as a closer. He did write that he changed the handling somewhat to suit his needs (he did not say what he changed, however).
I do not use effects like this but I like dpe666 idea of showing your regular deck in order at the beginning of a set, then at the end of your regular routine, showing all the cards back in order again. Sounds like a nice closer. I might have to shell out the $20 for this. |

I bought it and never used it. There is no doubt that it can be effective and commercial but it wasn't for me. I did make my own "Bammo" deck, with all of the cards sorting into a REAL new deck order.Never used either one,"live".
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.

Thanks for all the nice things said about Bammo, I am sure Bob would feel the same way. This is my first post here and one of my friends said this thread was here. Anyway, Thank you so much for buying it, maybe RegalFan will now go out and buy one too. It is nice to see that people really like something I had a part in. It makes me feel good about magic and want to create more. We hope to have a new booklet w/deck out this year 2003.
Thanks again, Gerald Kirchner |

All this talk about performing a quick deck switch after the effect. I don't want to sound too dumb but how do you learn how to do a deck switch. Is it complicated?

Check out the deck switch on Michael Ammar's Easy to master Card Miracles vol #3. The deck is switched during the Color Changing Deck Routine.

Hey fellers,
Hows about a regular deck version of Bammo? Not that Im a cheapskate or anything but I have learned that when performing in the real world a gimmicked deck that produces to good to be true miracles will eventually be snatched up by some wisea--! Im familiar with the effect but you guys got me on the path of working on a non- gimmicked, in the hands version. Im on my way to work on it. PM me if you want to know how it works out. Later. |

Peppermeat2000 I just wanted to say that I have never had anyone, but Magicians want to touch the deck after I finsh the trick. In the booklet I say use the Four Kings and put away the rest of the deck. The bottom five cards are regular backed cards and when you take the four kings away you still have one more card with a back to it. That way you still could flash the backs as you put them away. But again no one ever asks to see the backs, because people don't think in those terms... Try it out, If not for me, for my child!!
Bob and I have just released our replacement Bammo deck. Three new routines, one by Gaetan Bloom! Here is a couple of quotes we got from magicians you may of heard of. "A very strong effect." Roy Walton "...eye-popping..." Mike Close "A great piece of magic" Paul Green Thanks for everyone that has bought it and really like it. Gerald Kirchner |

I love it. Used to do Play it Straight, which is a great non gaffed but slightly set up triumph. But this trick just shocks people with a casual deck switch.

This effect to me is like a better version of Cheek to Cheek. Once again a Triumph like packet trick with a little twist in the end. Not something I would buy.
