Hi guys,
I would like to get some opinions from those who have knowledge about both of these wallets. I have had a Forbes, so I am familiar with it, but I would like to hear some opinions on the JOL large or small wallet compared to the forbes. I have also heard that you can not use a regular envelope with the JOL ... is this true? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have held both in my grubby mits. I own the Forbes.
The JOL Wallets will not take a standard envelope. My opinion: Hold on to your Forbes with all your might. It is far superior in construction and usefulness in my opinion. Far better. I've had customers return the JOL wallets to me and I can see why. They are made with very thin leather. One broke right away for one of my customers. I never saw the older models but the newer ones are certainly not made as well as they could be.

I have a Jonathan Matthews LePaul Wallet, and its pretty much the same as a Forbes wallet, with a few minor differences. Its a great wallet that should last you until the day you die. I can't say anything about the JOL wallet as I don't own one.

Plus wallets both large and small do use standard envelopes FYI No. 4 and No. 4 1/2 White Coin Envelopes from actionenvelope.com. As far as quality, neither I nor Jerry have received any returns, and beside Franks opinion above, the rest of the world seems to love them. The quality is excellent, its funny the only negative comments I have read seem to come from Frank. I am not sure why either. And if anything ever breaks we stand behind it 100%, and to date this is the first I have heard of it. I would love to see what could break, and if anything ever does, even through accidental abuse by an end user we try to rectify it in a professional manner. That is what JOL stands for.
