Hey guys,
I know this topic might have been discussed before, so if you think it is answered somewhere in the forum, please kindly give me the link. So I'm looking for barber half dollars. I'm ok with worn coins so I can go for those with lower quality (as long as they are still in a circular shape ;-) ). What I want to know is are there any coin shops around New York that sell old coins like barbers? I'm asking this since I have a friend living there and he can find them for me. Thanks a lot.

I just did a quick ebay search and found 3108 items listed under barber half dollars. I think that you should be able to find all that you would ever need there.

...to all the coins I've dropped here

Thanks for the information.
Though it might be an easy way to have coins found in eBay. In my situation I prefer having a coin shop instead, as I can ask my friend to actually go there and find coins with properties that I want.

Hi info2victor,
A good friend of mine has a store next to where tannen used to be two years ago, the address is 28 west 25th street, that place it is sort of like a flea market and his coin store is in the back, they just open thurdays and saturday; on thurday his son is in the store and on saturday my friend is in the store; his name is Diego Paz and he has barber and any other coin that we are always looking for, like morgan, walking, peace etc. He is one of my coleague long distance runners; so when your friend goes there, tell him to mention my name MANOLO, to get a better deal, I have 20 barber halves and 40 walking liverty and 13 morgans that I got from him all soft and in excellent condition. Check it out. Mano. P.S the easier way to get there is taking the N,R,F OR D train and get off on 23rd street and walk up two blocks towards 25th street. |

Mano,
Thank you very much for the information. I've just emailed my friend about this. See if he can get there sometime later. Appreciate your help =) And once again thanks for all the inputs above.

I have a few that I don't need, especially selected for their softness and quality. Drop me a PM if you are interested.

Thanks Jonathan.
And Mediocre the Great, right, that is an awesome barber. But somehow I want to palm the barbers and they have to be made of silver... =)

When I need Barber's I turn to ebay. Our local coin shop is waaaay too expensive. I know, I know, I should probably do more to support our local economy, but as my mother always said, charity starts at home
