I wanted to share my handling of Daniel Garcia's Fraud effect. I couldn't decide which forum to post this in, but this seemed a good choice...
Basically, I don't want to perform this effect with dollar bills in my country and I couldn't find a good alternative handling for Euro bills. My solution is to use Garcia's brilliant concept and apply it to my business cards. There's already a small illustration on there, so the following presentation is perfect for me: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l72/Ma......raud.jpg I asked DG if he was okay with me posting this, but I don't want to tip the gaff - so please PM me if you need more info on the prep, get-ready and clean-up (most of which should be fairly obvious if you have the DVD.)

EUREKA!
Now that is the best alternative thus far that I can say from a brilliant mind that one can do to avoid the whole "spending the bill" legally is! I have to commend you at least on the idea (I haven't seen a video demo though)... Do you plan on making a video and posting access to it soon? I haven't received my FRAUD in the mail yet (any day now) and will definitely try to adapt something like this as an alternative, when spending the bills is getting too embarrassing and feeling ethically wrong. Thanks for the great idea.... I LOVE IT! But thank you also, DG, for the creatism that you begun for this new realm of magic. I still believe you are the "Paul Harris of the 2000's"

Wow that is a very sweet alternative. Quick question, whats that little wallet you have there on the side?

Thanks, guys. I'll see about a video - I've only just started to play around with this, so I want to get it smooth and natural before I record it.
The wallet is the magnificent Outlaw business card peek wallet from Outlaw Effects - one of the best purchases I made this year.

Glad you guys like the idea. I've uploaded a video of my handling here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=SRnn4RFiNGA
Although I didn't bother with patter in the video, I use the idea from my first post - basically moving the icon to point to my phone number as a gentle reminder to call me. By the way, I'm getting a lot of messages about this handling - that's cool, I'd love to help you but please give me some indication that you actually own the DVD and know how the trick is performed.

Excellent application of Fraud, Malchat! Can we move the pip on the 2 of diamonds or hearts?

Sure - I was brainstorming about that today.
You can definitely use the Fraud concept for that. However, I realized you can also pull that off with a regular gaff and your favorite color change... Fraud is a little overkill to pull off a card effect - gotta fit the tools to the job.

Well, today I had a chance to try this out a business lunch, and the reaction is pretty good. The funny thing, they were *convinced* that the card must be gimmicked and couldn't stop fondling it, rubbing the ink of the moved pip, and passing it around.
But hey... I call that good marketing.

One of the great things about applying this to your business card is that you can have the "de-frauded" business cards pre-made that way by your source rather than trying to alter ones that you already have. The method "Fraud" uses for the bills probably wouldn't work on your business card.

I tried this on my business cards, but it leaves a streak on the business card. Folks who have this effect should know what I mean since you have to apply it on the card or the bill for that matter. I'm just wondering, Malchat, if you have this problem with your business cards. I saw your video clip on youtube and I didn't notice any streaking, but the streak looks pretty obvious when I did it on my business cards... Perhaps it's the type of card stock my business cards are printed on... Advice, anyone? Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply, kumpletoo - I lost track of this thread.
Maybe you're putting too much pressure on the card when you do your handling? My touch is very light when I do it - the only thing that bothers me about the video I put up is that I'm doing it too slow and it looks like I'm really pressing down on that card... but it's just the tip of my thumb brushing it to the final position.
