Hello All,
Just posted a video of myself performing the Close Up version of Guy Hollingworths "Waving the Aces" Vid was recorded as a negative on my mobile phone so the quality isn't 100% but is still watchable. I have two versions on Youtube, the other vid isn't recorded as a negtative. Here's the link :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCDWW6Fq7r0 Let me know what you think. I will mention this before someone elso does. I performed the effect with 7's but 'Waving the Sevens' didn't sound as good Mel |

I liked it well enough. change the display at the end... the end grip gives a lot away there. maybe like a open display that does not reverse. I dunno just my thoughts I liked it tho

That was quite nice.
The actual 'wave' is very smooth, there is, however, a bit of 'thumb action' in the pre-count that you could lose.

I agree that overall the handling was smooth. The main distraction was the thumb action. Try when speading and counting the cards to get the br**ck, and not at the more focused time.

That was hollingworths second version of waving the aces in his book, correct? Very good! I've ran through the method of this routine, I've just never seen it performed. Thanks!

I perform a version of waving the aces taught to me by Eric Anderson. It is way cooler and much more entertaining than the version on the video. I don't mean to say the version you just saw is bad, it's that the version I was taught is that much better. The method is the same, but let me tell you, the presentation is phenomenal. It builds in a logical manner.

Quite nice, it's fluid but there's a little to add on not focusing so much on the count of your cards, and the idea of the "negative" looks very good I think, especially for this effect of quick change it's very visual

Thanks for comments.
Just to redeem myself, regarding the 'thumb thing'. Keep in mind that you are seeing the effect from the performers perspective and not the audiences, just me beeing too lazy to record it again. Johnny Impossible. Any chance of posting a vid. showing your routine? I would love to see it as most vids showing this routine only 'wave' one card repeatedly. Thanks again, Mel |

I still prefer this effect with cards of different suits. Intuitively, if it's all the same card it is less convincing and open to all sorts of manipulation. The small discrepency with regard to the suits in this effect is not important; nobody ever notices and it shouldn't lead you to doing a less effective version with all the same card.

Sorry Scorch but I totally disagree with your comment that nobody ever notices the suit discrepency. Its happened to me more than once. That said, when I perform this, I always use normal cards (usually someone else's).
The only reason the vid clip shows me using four of the same is because that's the 1st deck I happened to grab when I decided to record the effect. |
