He was a great magician from the 1940's.
He was know for his creativity. He once was challenged to do a levitation in a restaraunt. So he did! He picked up a girl and levitated her on a table for all to see! hows that for impromtu! Somewhere I have pics of it! I think I first read about him from the old Jinx or maybe Phoenix.

Check with Charlie Reynolds. He was familiar with Winston Freer.

Hey Gerry,

You mean this man is a Café member?

Or should I do an internet search with this name?

I seriously doubt Charlie Reynolds is a Café member. Try an Internet search.

He lives in New York and was quite familiar with Freer's work.

Good luck.

Winston Freer worked for Abbott's in the 1940's. He had a lot of good idea but as I understand he was a little nutty at times.

Gene Mastmura was working on a book on him.

Hi hugmagic

I am looking for this puzzle. Do you know if its still possible to find? I know woodencigars got one but its a little bit to much money. Is Karl Norman still selling them? How can I contact him?

thanks

If you are up to making one yourself (you can make it from cardboard or wood, etc.) you'll find the plans on the CD "The Adventures of Winston Freer" for about $30.

It is a lot of work to make them as I attempted to do it sevral years ago.

Karl is still making them. You can reach him at 139 McConkey Dr., Kenmore, NY 14223. Tell Karl I sent you.

It's not that difficult to make. I made one from a Dollar Store vinyl floor tile, using an X-acto knife. "Measure twice, cut once."

I was talking about making with wood as Karl does. I am sure it would be makeable using floor tile as you suggest but I would rather take the time and make it just one time.
