The list is as follows; Electric Sawing in half Zig Zag Lady Shadow to Life Asra Illusion Chest of Mystery Book of Magic Mummy Case Arial (full set) Rocket (full set) Shangai Mystery Fly to... (6 girls production) Duek GD (full set) Time and Space Ghost from China Kindly give me some suggestions on the same.... Thanks |

It could be fun to redesign your props and create something new from what you already have. OR...if you plan to sell them, please let us know what you'll be selling them for. Do you have pictures?

Selling is a good idea I think... I don't have the pictures right away but can get some in a few days...

Gather the illusions together in a big pile .. get some gasoline and some matches ...
Now you have some storage space again ... Just a suggestion Steve |

Chezaday seems to lack a sense of history.
These old illusions have intrinsic value in the $$$$ thousands. An act can "set" one, two or all in a historical context and offer charm. A collector might want to restore. A young magi may want to rework. Pics may be a pain to take (particularly if the illusions need be assembled and you are not familiar with all the workings) but would be the best way to maximize sale and your own evaluation. Also - consider this -- if you are doing street magic already -- you have the bug. Maybe as you grow these are props you can either work with or trade as you grown and change through various stages of magic performance. If space is a problem for storage -- I have no answer for that. Also -check your most active IBM or SAM chapter for ideas and suggestions.

Chezaday...
What an "intelligent" piece of advice you just gave. I think that a loy of people would be happy to own these props! |

And then there's always the magic auction. It takes a lot of the stress of you tring to sell the props. It's a good company check em' out http://www.magicauction.com .

You would think the son would want to keep the props his father made a living with.
Anyone who knows me understands I was joking .. do I really need to clarify that?? Steve |

I think that it is great that 007 is performing some type of magic, be that the street style, etc. Certainly there can not be that many stage magicians working in India - I would think that someday he would reconsider and revive his father's old show, with a more modern twist. Harry Blackstone, Jr. did it rather well! |

Thanks a billion for all your valuable inputs... Really appreciate it...
The actual problem I am facing right now is 'space' to keep these priceless illusions... I would be more than happy to get on the stage as I have spent a lot of time on the art... I have been able to achieve something that a majority of people here in my country have not, work on the psychology of people and how to perform magic effectively... All most all the performances I have seen here (even the number 1 magicians) just do the tricks because they want to do them... they have put in little effort in deciding what trick should come first and what should follow next and why? I am not putting down my fellow magicians here nor am I telling that I m a better one... The thing is we are missing the big picture here that magic is effective when you know how to play the audience's emotions to give them an experience rather than just a magic show.... It needs to be an experience that they can talk about for years together... I have spent 15 years of my life working in different fields to just understand this aspect of psychology of people from different backgrounds... It would have been easier if I would have done a 3 year psychology course, but I don't think I would have got the kind of exposure or experience that I have now... Unlike most of the people, I don't have to practice a trick hundreds of times before I am capable of performing it to an audience... I will have to practice the trick 2-3 times only and I give a very nice performance and come out with different styles immediately too.... Oooops!! I am going on and on with me... Coming back to my dad's illusions... I would love to perform these but I don't have the initial capital amount to do the same... I have the entire Kit with illusions, costumes, lighting (imported from Japan), the sound system... etc... but I don't have the initial capital... I want to produce my own tele-series here in my country but cant do it for the same reason "Capital". So I thought that I could probably find some solution and cut down on my expenses on space at least... My dad made a lot of money and he is one of the renowned magicians with over 10,000 shows to his credit and a lot of awards to his name... But he spent all his money in helping the needy... I don't regret this a bit... I am proud of him and I am also doing a lot of charity work... I go to various instutions who have old aged residents, physical handicaps, cancer patients, aids patients, etc., and show them magic and then build confidence in these people and teach them a few trick and have them perform for others... and I don't take any donation or any kind of help or call the press or media when I do this. I do it because I like to do it and not for any other purpose otherwise... I have been spending all my money on this lately... and I know with all the blessings that I am getting from these people I will be successful one day, as I have the talent and desire to do so.... Sorry for the long story.... I ll try and take some pictures and put it on for you to see and decide... Thank you all once again for all the support and help... |

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your suggestion... these are antiques and if you try to build them today its a real pain in the wrong place... these are made out of the finest wood, and have accurate measurement... they are a pile of gold... |
