I should leave this alone, but I can't help it, I know I can't be the only one wondering;
If you bought the figure with the problems from Jimmy and it is yours, why is Jimmy getting the new figure?
And if in this convoluted deal, he's the one getting a new figure out of it, shouldn't he be paying for shipping the bad figure he sold you back to Kem?

I was thinking I should get a refund first before I ship the figure back to Kem... Im already losing money even if I get the refund because Im shipping the figure to Kem... I don't want to lose more money by shipping the figure before I get my refund.

I already filed a dispute over PayPal... Smile

Turns out... I need to ship the figure back to Kem first then Kem sends Jimmy a new figure and once the new figure arrives at Jimmy's, I get my money back...

Fair enough....

Just to be clear, I'm in the middle of this because Wanlu asked me to help him out and I agreed because I felt bad that he wasn't happy with the figure. Although I got it straight from Kem. I did step in and help and since Kem's ebay listing from which I bought the figure originally was inaccurate and misleading when compared to the figure I received and then sold to Wanlu, Kem said he would replace the figure and send me a new one.

Being a nice guy, I told Wanlu that when I got the figure I would send him pics of the whole figure and headstick so he could make sure it's perfect before I shipped it to him. If it wasn't to his liking, I'd refund his money. I was trying to be fair and helpful. Wanlu decided he just wanted his money back. Not really the deal but since I can resell the puppet it doesn't bother me.

And folks that's why I'm getting the figure. When I get the new figure I will post some pics. He will be available for sale if anyone wants him.

With all due respects Jimmy, as a pro vent of your stature, I think your first option instead of selling it should have been sending it back to Kem yourself specially when you realized that its not the figure advertised in his auction. The figure was terrible! The headstick and levers specially the one for the eyebrows were all poorly made.

I shipped the figure to Kem at my own expense and will only get a refund for the figure only and not for shipping that very heavy figure, when and only when you get the new figure...

In any case, I appreciate the refund!

Thanks Smile

So I was thinking of purchasing a Scuddlebuds figure but am confused as to the quality per this thread. Is there an update? Also what is it meant when they say "Semi Professional Figures". Is that because it only has movement of the eyes and mouth? or is that a quality term?

I picked up a nice Maher just recently but the Scuddlebuds figure looks like they would be much more child friendly.

Thank you,
David

I have one and it's okay...

The one in this thread as admited by Kem Poyner is probably one of his experimental figures which Kem calls a brick. Smile The headstick is prehistoric Smile I sent that one back to Kem and I think he will replace it with a new one for Jimmy and Jimmy will pay me back my money as soon as he receives the replacement. Only proves Kem Poyner stands behind his work...

But for the record, I have the one pictured in his website and it's okay...the mouth had a problem but Kem fixed it for free. Overall its ok... in fact I'm using it for a current project for a company avp Smile

Wanlu that's not that encouraging..... just okay and overall it's ok.

I was expecting something more like, it's great, the children love it, the crowd responds well to the figure, etc.

I don't want to spend $800 on a figure that is just OK, I really like the look but if it's just OK then I'm going to look for something else.

The figure is okay as far as the mechanics are concerned... I'm sorry if I can't say it's excellent.

As for the crowd reaction when I use it, it's amazing!!! Smile

Kid friendly appearance... and PERFECT for kidshows!!! Smile

...although I used it once in an adult show and it went very well.

Wanlu, is this the order of best and counting down, or just the nicest mechanics you have experienced in random order?
