We await Homer's first direct venture into his own instructional DVD: CoinOne. I am told he began shipping last week. Has anyone received this and seen it firsthand? If so, I wonder what the opinions and impressions are. Chris Kenner also performs his routine, The Deep. No reviews yet, I guess.
To see a difficult thing lightly handled gives the impression of the impossible.

Just received this and can only say WOW. It hopefully isn't something that we'll see things like "I received this yesterday and put in my act last night and it killed". It will take work to get smooth, but not hard. I also laugh when people describe how great something is packaged even though they thing the effect is mediocre. Homer did a beautiful job on the whole package. On one of the posts someone mentions "a breakthrough in teaching"... how many times have we heard that. Well, in this case, I'd have to agree. Very unique. VERY. Incredible job

Tom I second your post.
The packaging is cool & classy, the production values are superior, the format and delivery of the material makes it 'student-friendly' and there is no filler. Step-by-step, regular speed, slow motion and performers point of view. In my opinion, a bargin as far as price is concerned. It's refreshing to see a delivery of material in this fashion. Tom Peters is always talking about design separating the elite from the rest of the pack and Liwag's first DVD project does just that.....it separates itself from almost everything out on the market. Hey Everyone, just got mine and gave it a look over. The packing is superb, the layout of the DVD is awesome and he didn't miss a detail with explaining anything. The only critique is that some DVD's are going to the style of no talking just all on screen text. I don't believe there is one word uttered on the DVD. It's just not my learning style. It's a very good very unique style that we're growing accustomed to and you learn everything with the text and the on screen handlings. I just like to hear the passion in the voice of the person who created it. All in all unbelievable DVD and a steal, if you haven't ordered you won't be upset to go do it right now. Well Done Homer, I look forward to seeing more of your stuff in the future!

I just received this DVD this afternoon and looked it over on my PC. This routine looks so good that it appears to be computer generated! WOW! Watch this DVD and witness first hand the evolution of sleight of hand magic!

Speedcuber, I think the lack of words for all action from Homer is somewhat apropo for this shadow of coin magic. He's an interesting fellow, definitely not your run of the mill type guy...very clever and extremely talented. Wonder what the intelligensia think of this cat. He's nothing like any of them it seems to me, perhaps even superior. Intelligensia's always have opinions, but sometimes they are just smart enough not to give them on purpose. Glad Homer came out with this, seems really good, actually fascinating. -MB

Received mine today and have to agree with the above posts. All areas of making, packaging, editing this DVD are top notch. Very well done Homer, hope more will come in the future. There is also a pdf file of the routine on the DVD, plus Chris Kenner performs and explains his routine "The Deep". Definitely worth the money. Cheers,

Homer Liwag hasn't just raised the bar on magic DVDs. He's put it in orbit! This is the most sophisticated and visually stunning magic DVD I've ever seen. And it's a hellava routine also. And I haven't even gotten to the Chris Kenner part yet. Thanks Homer, D |

CoinOne - Homer Liwag
Today, a small package arrived in the mail and I had almost forgotten I had ordered it. It came wrapped in an anti-static bag and when I broke the seal and poured the contents into my hands, my eyes widened and I think I actually said, "Holy $#it! It's here." out loud. I made my way to the dvd player, popping the disc out as I walked and then had to yell for my son to find the remote control for me. Once he handed it to me, I shoo-ed him away. Into the tray the disc went, the remote in my left hand, silver Morgan's in my right. I scanned the menu and clicked "play all," sat back and took the ride. It's been a while since I've grinned ear to ear after watching anything. After CoinOne, I was... Cheshire style. The production quality alone is superb. Homer Anthony Liwag still remains enigmatic, you don't see or hear him, but you'll never forget him either. This effect is taught with a mixture of tight video footage, highlighted with text and bullet points along with a touch of A-Ha's "Take On Me" The teaching style isn't typical of most other videos and may draw critisism, but I that would be because the critic is being narrow-minded. I found it to be very detailed and very direct. The "real-time" footage is a jaw-dropper. When it comes to the explanations, he doesn't spoon feed you, rather you are told and shown what to do and how to do it without handholding. A certain level of skill and understanding is expected, but with the proper dedication, this effect is well within any serious students grasp. The routine is BEAUTIFUL. All the phases are extremely we'll thought out, justification for the moves are apparent and don't need to be explained, they flow seamlessly one into the next. Now I have a reason to walk around palming coins again. I'll be practicing thin routine till it passes muster in my hands. 'Adre, kung mabasa mo ito... Ang Galing Mo! Vince Mendoza |
