Hi,

here in sweden, I do stage shows for up to 400 family members, both adults and children. I was thinking of building a giant run rabbit run. the normal ones are just too small for my big audiences.

does anyone have any plans for such a prop, or has anyone made one in the past?

mvh (regards in swedish)

geoff.

Jim Gerrish is working on an article for his latest book "The Hardboard and Duct Tape Magic Show" called "Run,Whatever,Run." It is a "do-it-yourself" series and this particular prop can feature a rabbit, a ghost, a cartoon character... whatever! Jim's version not only has the "whatever" running back and forth and peeking out the sides, but leaving the prop to peek out from the performer's pockets, from behind a spectator's back, and so on. Since you make it yourself, it can be made in any size that works for you. The article should be on-line (on my site) by the end of November, if not sooner.

Hej spellbinder...

I am very interested in your ebook series. here in sweden, I will be doing christmas shows for family audiences of up to 400. can you suggest 5 or 6 easily assembled effects that I can perform on stage? then I will purchase the plans for these from your site. thanks for a very good service by the way.

regards,

If you have access to inflatable Christmas lawn decorations in Sweden, some of Jim Gerrish's Illusions using them are described in The Wizards' Journal #7, which also contains other Christmas themed magic. Because much of the material in the Journals is of the "do-it-yourself" type, you can easily convert any themes from one season to the next.

For example, the Growing Hat described in Wizards' Journal #8 (A Hat For All Seasons) appears to be Irish themed for St. Patrick's Day, but you'll see other possibilities inside the article, for making the ending with a Santa Claus or Father Christmas head, or ending with a Snowman, or whatever you can imagine. Our version of the hat is much larger than the commercial versions available, and so it is easier to see from a large stage for a large audience. That's just one example, but this is truen of most of the effects, so if you are looking for Christmas themes, don't just look at the pictures- look BEYOND them to see how you can adapt them for your situation. That's why we like Do-It-Yourself props- YOU make the rules!

Jim's Chimney Screen is almost ready for release on-line, and that is another multi-themed possibility quickly made from hardboard and duct tape. It should be done by the end of this week.

This is an old thread, I know...

But I've been trying to find the "Run, Whatever, Run" plans on the MagicNook website, and can't find it anywhere. Am I not looking in the right place, or did this vanish?

Could you use 2 hutches and a very well trained rabbit?

"Run Whatever Run" is included in The Wizards' Journal #13. Next time, use my special magic search engine found on the front page of my site. It really works(assuming that I'm awake and on duty at the computer)!

If you wanted to use magicgeorge's idea with a live rabbit, I would consider building TWO "Backstage Whatever" hutches included in Jim Gerrish's Hardbook and Duct Tape Magic Book 2 section on my site. However, you need twin rabbits to pull it off.
