I woke up at 3:00 Am this morning with a bad, runny nose, throat is sore, I know I've got the beginning of a bad cold, still don't have confirmation on a show for Sunday, SAM meeting tonight (that I am going to miss because of my current medical condition, plus the cold. That means I will miss Tom Craven's lecture, a lecture I booked... The postman justdropped off the new cane I ordered, one with a skull themed for Halloween (since I have to use one, it might as well be seasonal) but when I opened it, I found out that although not advertised as such, it is a sword cane, illegal to carry, never mind hobble around on.

Yes, it is Friday the 13th. Happy Days...

But then I took delivery of a book by Christian Chelman called Hauntiques.

So, not so bad. No triskaidekaphobia for me.

Yeah...Friday the 13th! My Hockey Mask gets to come out one more time...this time though It's in the guise of my blog which for one last time gets political and takes a swipe with a bloody machete. Tick 'em all off says I. Cue the Manfredini music

Yep, Happy Horror Day everyone!

5:47 AM.
Traveling south I see a bright, white flash in the sky ahead and the highway goes dark.
An accident downed a utility pole and blew out a tranformer next to a gas station nearly missing the pumps.
I get to work and all the computers are down.
Nothing to do for several hours.

Actually, not a bad day at all.

On my way to the gig there is massive traffic. Someone has landed a plane on the freeway. No one injured but what a delay.

Some of us are old enough to remember Walt Kelly's cartoon, Pogo. I always liked the series where Friday the Thirteenth showed up on Tuesday, or whatever.

TV show in the AM, performances afternoon and evening. Afternoon show, this one kid keeps calling out "You idiot" every 13 seconds for 20 minutes. I'm getting out of the straitjacket, riding the unicycle through the audience (as usual). The kid jumps in my way, calling "You're an idiot". I had enough, and just called back "And you're obnoxious". Everybody laughs, the kid shuts up. And I didn't even have to run him down. Oh well. I have a razor-sharp tire.

On Friday, I walked into my favourite Magic shop (Wal*Mart) and picked up a few things for an upcoming show; the total, tax included, came to....$13.

It's a wedding show, not sure whether I'll work this tidbit into the patter...
