Might I make a motion:

I propose that we put a time limit on the game. For example, if the thread goes more than "X" amount of time (days, weeks, months, etc) without a new post then we all agree to end the game.

My guess is that none of us want to see it end, so this would hopefully put the pressure on us to work faster.

Any thoughts?

jstone,
I don't think I understand your motion.
If nobody makes a post the thread just gets lower on the list and essentially makes the game end. I don’t think I see how your proposed rule makes this game more challenging.

This game has been a lot of fun for the past 2-½ years and I don’t see a reason to end this game.

I think to make this game more challenging is to add another requirement to each post. Such as, what publication is the trick/ effect found.

Just my two cents. Smile

My vote: Nay (not in favor of Jstone’s motion.)

I'm with you, John Heggie.
Sorry, jstone. You can drop out whenever you feel the time is right. I understand. Personally, I'm going to keep on keeping on. Despite what some may think, I actually get quite of bit of info and ideas, motivation and inspiration out of this thread.

I'm very much in favour of John Heggie's idea "to add another requirement to each post. Such as, what publication is the trick/ effect found."

No worries guys. I wasn't trying to drop out or end the game, and it's been fun. I just thought that if we knew that we weren't "allowed" to continue the game if nothing was posted for a week (or whatever time frame), then it might add an extra level of excitement to the game knowing that we have a time limit.

It's the difference between Chess and Speed Chess... just thought it would up the stakes as I mentioned in my original suggestion... however, either way's cool with me.

BodyByFood,
Welcome to the Card Trick Game.

I appreciate your enthusiasm but wait until another member post after you before entering another post. It adds to the challenge of this game.
