Before we continue, can someone please confirm that this is, in fact, a card trick?

I was looking for this book, for the past 2 days, (in my cellar) and just found it.
Network, stands for NBC, CBS & ABC, on page 150. (Prediction effect, using non-playing cards)

We're back to "N"...

Thanks, Sixten. I don't have that particular book, but being quite familiar with Becker's work I was thinking that it was not a card trick.

Carrying on with...

Nightmare Variation (F. Jackson)
The Sphinx (May 1931, Vol. 30, No. 3, pg. 119)

I do not completely agree with Sixten:
As far as I remember, it is an effect with letter CARDS, blank (face and back) playing cards, on which are printed letters.
In the course of this day I will again looking for that effect.

Just looked again at Becker's Network ESP.
He wrote:
"You'll need nine (9) alphabet cards — A, B, C, N, B, C, C, B and S."

Those cards are blanc faced playing cards with a letter on the face and a playing card back. See the illustration on page 104!
in addition one card is prepared on its back like it is done for a monte trick: to show two cards as three cards in a fan.
I think that in this trick cardmagic-principles are applied!

Use we in our game also ESP cards, and are these non-playing cards?

So I advocate to continue with letter "E"...
