Top Palm
The term originated as American card sharps argot by 1902 (Erdnase, 83)

Thence (through Erdnase) introduced to magicians jargon in 1911 Hoffman in Magic Wand; 1950 Hay; 1961 Green; 1976 Tarr; 1978 Mueller; 1988 Waters; 1990 Wedler; 1991 Ortiz; 1992 Racherbaumer in LR; 1992 Burt ad in Genii; 1997 A-1 flyer; 1998 L&L cat.

I just realized that "Top Palm" was already listed as "Erdnase Top Palm." Since the history seems to suggest that it was around before Erdnase I will go with jugglestruck's entry and discard the former.
