Paul,
Your 'above' entry is a repeat. (See the master list, on the previous page.) Also check, all the entries, after the list. Just to make sure your effect wasn't already threaded. Still, with "E"... |

Hmmm... I've done a bit more research and it seems that there are two different effects with the name Homing Card. Other than the Jennings version already listed (of which there are multiple versions by multiple performers, such as Fred Kaps, for one), there is also an effect (very different) by Francis Carlyle, which can be found in Stars of Magic. I'm going to add it to a future update, for the sake of completeness.
Continue with "D." |

...and I am in the game again... Thanks, Sixten for your kind words of June 14...and a note from the WHALEY regarding HOMING CARD:
"Homing Card, (The) 1.n. Generally, any effect where a playing card vanishes and returns whence it came. [rare] Jargon by 1945 Hugard in HMM, 106, re a return to the deck; 1946 Al Cohn in HMM, 241, re return to card case; 1947 Carlyle in Stars of Magic, Series 4, re a repeat card-to-pocket effect; 1988 Waters, re Carlyle's return-to-pocket. 2.n. Specifically, the effect where an odd playing card (say 1 black among 6 reds) in a packet is repeatedly removed yet returns each time. [rare] Invented by Fred Braue (based on an effect by Tenkai) and first published by him in 1948. A pet effect of William Zavis, Fred Kaps, Elizabeth Warlock, and Bob Sheets. REF: Hugard & Braue, Showstoppers with Cards (1948), 13. Jargon by 1969 Jennings in A. Sharpe; 1981 Miesel; 1984 Busby in Epoptica #6; 1988 Waters; 1989 Kaufman; 1990 Wedler; 1992 Zavis in Collectors' Forum; 1997 Warlock in LR. Also called "The Forgotten Card Trick" by Dai Vernon in his lecture notes; 1984 Busby in Epoptica #6." ... and to return to "D"--> Dr. Brochu's Card Force (Dr. R.
