Hi guys,

Anyone knows if you can perform Windshear http://youtube.com/watch?v=nV-p6zV5ouc in daylight? What do you guys think of this illusion?

Best wishes, Troley

Eh. its old news. Cool effect but everyone's got one. Why not do something different?

You can do it in daylight, although you'll need another direct source of light. Ryan is right, though - it's been done into the ground. Perhaps if you plan to do this outside, you have access to a blade that's still attached to an airplane...? Just a thought!

Don't dimiss the lay audience...
I doubt anyone here could name 50 people by name that have seen Windshear in person. Now maybe that's a stretch...but seriously, how many people have seen a live magic show at all, let alone see one with Windsheer in it?

There are far more Origami's than Windsheers.....we just wrapped up 30 shows in 10 days. Next to Kristen's Full View Water Torture Cell, Origami was the favorite illusion according to the audience.

Find a good presentation and run with it, if that's the illusions that suits you.

Windshear is a perfect illusion .. it is a heavy prop though. Daylight could be tricky .. but I don't see why not. We've done it without perfect lighting.

I only know a handful of performers that actually own the prop .. how is it done into the ground?? When is the last time you saw someone do it live??

Are you just replaying the WGM w/ Hans Klock over and over again on your VCR?? That might be where the problem lies ...

Seen it a handful of times Live. Still think its over used . Are you just angry you spent a bunch of money on a prop everyone has? don't worry. Get some ice cream Everything will be nice and happy. (and its easier to carry) Wizeguy . . Smile

R

(this does not mean I think the prop is not cool or poorly built. In-fact I think its a fantastic piece of magic, built and designed by an elite builder of magic. If you were the first 5 to have it good for you . . But its time to bring to new stuff to the table)

Off the top of my head I can only name four people that currently have Windsheer. I'm sure there are more, but not many.

Kevin Spencer
Taylor Reed (heard he sold it)
Chezaday
Hans Klok (not sure he has one....he borrowed the one for Worlds Greatest Magic)

So as Chezaday eluded to...Step away from the Tivo & Youtube and no one gets hurt.

See I told you it hasn't been overdone .. now that you mention it I can't really name any others that own one. Last I heard .. Taylor Reed sold his prop to another builder who then sold it to .. guess who, Criss Angel.

At least he'll finally be performing a real illusion on the show .. and none of this impossible garbage that can only be done on TV. Ya .. I know he's got the kids talking and stuff .. but none of us, not even him could live up to it live.

Don't even get me started ..

Chez: LARGE SUNDAY, EXTRA FUDGE.mmmmmmm Waaaarrrrrm fuuuuuuuuuuuuudge...

I digress.

"Anyone knows if you can perform Wind-shear http://youtube.com/watch?v=nV-p6zV5ouc in daylight? What do you guys think of this illusion? "

Doode: YES. Daylight night-light and snake-light. Christmas tree lights (The big fat ones not the small Wussy ones) will work just fine: Answer your question? (I PERSONALLY Apologize for going off topic. But hey We had some fun ! SEE Magi have senses of humor too. (and nutter designer folk as well)
Cheers.

If anyone is wanting to get rid of their "overdone" Windshear I'd be interested...

The Mirror Images : so as I see, those are rip-off versions that are built here (in fact they don't look so fine as the original I have seen on youtube).

As I know it´s only Bill Smith Magic Ventures, who is authorised.

I also would like to have one GOOD builder in europe (there are often big quality differences).

Exactly - that is what I meant! What a dream!!

But with Steinmeyer it would be hard to get that working I guess - his authorisations are very rare in america already. (for the most illusions there is only 1 (infrequently 2) builder authorised - like the windshear)

JoyJoy : It might be hard but I think not impossible and Jim Steinmeyer, as he is good, is not only one illusion designer Smile We will see Smile
