I didn't realize Doc was that tall.
Great footage. Shows how this can play at a comedy club, hall, etc. http://doceasonmagicshop.com/doc_eason/p......57638939

It would be great to get this, and think up a less suggestive patter
and have the same punch line, and be ready to have a version for all audience types.. ..

You are still "da man", Doc!
I shan't forget the night a few years ago when you were "doing" our magic club in Orlando and Michael Ammar just happened to pop in for a visit. |

Tape it to your mirror and recite a few lines each morning as you shave. (Or do it SILENTLY!!!! as you brush your teeth...) That's how Doc learned it. And also why he gave up shaving! yuk yuk yuk |

I bought mine over ten years ago from Kerry. It is well made and STILL in perfect condition. I keep the cards clean with a little soap and water. I also made up my own, using regular sive Bicycles, for when I do close up. But for stage, Kerry is the Best!

I know it's basically a stage routine, but had anyone ever performed it in a roving situation?

Has anyone ever used the routine in a bar or club using the anticipated words that are going through peoples minds instead of the innuendos, or do you always use the patter that comes with routine? I just got the effect and have been practicing the lines, but I have a tendency to want to say the words that everyone will be anticipating. I know it probably depends on the setting and the audience but I think using it with the anticipated words could go over quite well. Please let me know what youe think. Thanks

Let the audience fill in the words..it's funnier.

Amen! Let THEM fill the blanks!
I think you would come off as a "dirty old man"...and lose about 80% of the comedy. Once you learn the poem well, there will be no tendency to say the wrong words. But if you go that route, let us know how it went over. (I predict you'll return to the original.) For the record, I even took out the stanza that begins "Two Queens in love; So happy, quite gay". It flows well without it, and IMHO that line crosses from innuendo to "in yo' face". |

Doc's routine is definitley a "piece of work"

Too bad the "Kingston Trio" line---flies right over the heads of those in the audience under "40"....but the "comeback line" from the magician can always be "Mmm, a young crowd tonight!".

I loved the Kington Trio line and used it for years and finally just omitted it.(It just didn't get the
reaction I wanted for it). The routine flies beautifully without it. Still great stuff! |

I can't let go of the King Stan Trio line! If the crowd is younger I just quietly say "GOOGLE IT" after the line and move on.

I use a line in my Prof's nightmare routine where I name the 3 roes (short piece, long piece and...????? No , Maurice, because that's his name then I mumble a few lines from the old Steve Miller tune and tell the specks. "If you don't get it, go home and ask your parents, if they do... they inhaled" still works to this day (even if they don't get it, they understand) those who do ALWAYS mention it to me later about how great the ref was. Let's face it. Classics are classics.
