Alyssa couldn't function at work today. She called the doctor for a better antinausea med. The first one cost 4$. The one they prescribed today was 450$. We aren't even close to rich, so I turned it down. Alyssa went to the hospital instead and got a 90 min infusion of some stuff that seems to be working. Although they had to stick her 3 times until they got a good vein...turns out she was way dehydrated. She is doing much better now...me....I'm workin on an ulcer.

When my cousin's 14 month old daughter was diagnosed with cancer (she's fully recovered and considered cured, now), he wasn't sleeping or eating, and I told him what I'm about to tell you...you will do no one any good if you make yourself sick. You've got people depending on you, and if you get sick, who will take care of you...and them?
Of course, the shoe was on the other foot when my mom was diagnosed...I had people telling me the same thing. I know that it is easier said than done, but at least try to keep yourself calm, relaxed, and in good health. If there aren't any support groups in your area, look into a yoga class (or even a dvd if you don't want to be away from Alyssa).

Nathan...I don't know what the initial med for nausua was, but ask her Doc about Visteril (Sp?)...They gave that to me for nausua and it worked great...Plus, it was cheap, at the time...wouldn't know about nowadays...

Again, take care of yourself so you can take care of the family...It's the most important thing pal.

Nathan, my thoughts and prayers are with you buddy. My 18 year old daughter is a 1o year survivor and when she was 10 all the doctors including our palliative care specialist told us we were days from the end.

Then a miracle happened and continues to happen. It ain't over till it's over and we don't get to decide the timeline.

Enjoy life, there are no dress rehersals.
