Does anyone do "The certain card trick" (worst name ever for a trick?) from Expert Card Technique? It's the last trick in the self working section, page 403 in my Dover edition of ECT.
My problem is that if you mis-estimate the depth of cut, then you will sometimes (not always) get it wrong. Does anyone have any outs they can share? Or point me in the right direction? Thanks, DW |

In that trick, you have 6 cards leeway in mis-estimation. You can increase the leeway to 12 cards by dealing cards face down and stop between possible 2 cards. You turn the card after hearing the name of the selection, top card of dealt pile or top card of the remaining cards.
It is very difficult to explain, so I will try to explain my modification later in my thread titled "Ways to Variations" in Secret Session. Hideo Kato |
