Guys, if you're going to mention a trick here could you do a favor for those of us who don't know what it is? Just a quick 1 to 2 sentence description of the effect would be great.
Thanks! |

A quick Google search will always get you the info, since he's looking for a review, not a description. Here are just a couple: http://www.hamptonridge.com/product_page......asy.html http://www.elmwoodmagic.com/card/card19.htm http://www.hanklee.net/extras/extra0801/extra0802.html Steve H

One point to bear in mind is that you cannot show the cards as displayed in the photo on the packaging (for reasons which will be apparent once you have bought the trick).

the effect is that 4 jumbo face cards change into indifferent spot cards.

I've performed it for years and use it as a follow-up to Daley's last trick. It kills.

Great Trick!!! There is a video clip at Hank Lee's site. It's under the Hankie Vision link.

The effect is actually Bro. John Hamman's. All Luber did was add a little twist to the method at the end, other than that the effect and method are identical.
Since the cards cannot be examined at the conclusion, there are many Twisting The Aces variants where the cards change at the conclusion which are just as good for close up. In Hamman's original the cards ARE examinable at the end. So, for close up the original version is better, for stand up this version is better. Paul. |

I've been thinking about buying the large version of this. Can someone tell me if it can be done in Palour (Living Room) conditions with folks just a few feet away from me? Does there need to be distance between the Magician and Spectators to hide any gaffs?
Thanks. Ron Reid |

Hi Ron,
I have the jumbo version and yes, you can do it in parlour situations, since the cards cannot be examined this is where I'd recommend you perform it anyway! I'm not that much of a fan - the handling looks a bit 'fishy', and, as Paul mentions above, there are many cleaner versions available that do the job just as effecitvely, if not better |

Thanks for the info, Paul. Based on your advice, I think I'll pass on this.

I just got the Gourmet Wallet and I have to say that I am not disappointed. It is of fine quality leather and sports many pockets. You can show it both sides for a quick inspection or flash either side if you like and the gimmick will not be apparent. However of course it will not stand up to an physical inspection.
In fact the quality is so good that I think it may be a bit of overkill - as it is a real checkbook wallet. There is a zipped compartment and many credit card slots. You can use this as an ordinary wallet for the effect. Very nice! Thanks Yendor. Terry |

Do you use this effect as a quickie or do you have a story to tell while you are doing the effect. I have it and it is a great trick but I am trying to come up with some type of story for the patter. Any suggestions?

People refer to other versions (twisting effects etc..) similar to this Royal Fantasy which might be better than this...
Anyone have any specific favorites? (JUMBO CARDS ONLY)... No need for cards to be examinable. As mentioned above, I was thinking parlor/platform conditions... Thanks ! |

I have to concur that this is a great effect! I purchased it years ago and perform it all the time.
I love it. I wish it was available in regular sized cards, so I could carry it around in my pocket.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.
