Hello folks
I have a mind reading show for Lego coming up on the 1st December. The Global Manager for Lego will be at the event. It is a staff Xmas Party- no kids just the sales & Marketing staff. I remember reading somewhere about effects with Lego but I can't remember right now What and how would you incorporate Lego into a mind reading show With Lego you can deal with color, the numbers on the blocks and I have been thinking of putting blocks into a cha&*^ bag and having some selected and they fit together to form a prediction but this could be complicated (especially if they didn't put it together and it would take time) whilst it is a fun event it would be nice to show them what is available for other events (trade shows) and incorporate the product into performance >>>>>I don't know which is why I am asking Any suggestions for Lego mentalism? |

I have a method that is exceptionally clean for prediction a lego structure freely built by a subject. We filmed it for the Mind Tapped show that is performed by George Tait. The structure is predicted right down to the lego man or women built. The structure built is a car (any of their choosing) and ends with an interesting use of a popular gimmick. The clip will be up online at some point after it has hit the tv screens here.

I'm just thinking it may be a little diificult for someone to put together something complex in the confines of the show

Here's a suggestion: I'm sure the Lego company has some sort of catalog of their stuff so why don't you make a forcing book that will force one specific structure. Someone picks the force page and you reveal what's been covered up center stage: the exact same structure just picked. Greg

There could also be one piece missing on the structure and you could perform a variation of kurotsuke with a force bag filled with Lego bricks...The director comes up on stage has free choice and takes the only correct brick in the bag to complete the structure???

If you're using a forcing bag, why not go all the way? Have each spectator dip into a bag full of random bricks and take out a few components.
All the 'freely selected' components are gathered and the performer quickly assembles them into a nice structure, using every last piece. The final component (or a drawing of the structure) is produced from a sealed package that's been in the director's possession for a week.

Look at "Three" Booklet by Bruce Bernstein.
You can find at least two very good commercial effects that you can easy adapt for Lego. Also look at a good chair routine, Paolo Cavalli has good ones. |

They could win pieces of Lego in a bank night style routine and you could win money. or they could win a few pence and you could get the lego. Proving its better than money!

By the way, you can use Osterlind's SOS bag to force up to four different colored Lego pieces. So you could do a really easy chair routine where you have four people randomly sit on any seat and switch as much as they like. Now you approach each and first drop four different pieces into the bag and shake the bag. Each takes a piece and hides it in their hand.
You reach behind each chair and place a large version of the pieces on each person's lap... they open their hands and the large piece that was behind their chair matches the piece they picked. Easy, easy, easy! Greg

Back to back two lego sets....the spectator builds a structure using different coloured bricks. The performer simultaniously picks up and builds the same structure matching the colours..
