I'll probably be seeing this later tonight. I was horrified to find out that they got Bond playing Texas Hold'em in the movie. Texas Hold'em! Now if memory serves me correctly isn't Bond's game of choice actually Baccarat? That is what they are suppose to be playing in Casino Royal, if I remember correctly? Not the fad that is Texas Hold'em...

I assume the Blond Bond did a pretty good job then?

I liked the opening sequence with the spades/hearts being fired from the guns and the faded clubs as the smoke billowing forth.
Yah, it was good, but it seemed to go on for a while. Furthermore, a couple things went unexplained... like some very notible tears from a particular character. Derek Merdinyan |

The opening sequence was a little cheesy but it wasn't that bad.

I saw it last night and loved it. It was a little long but it was worth it. I think the next one will be even better. I heard there already planning to have the next one ready by November 2008 with Daniel Craig.

Flourishdude: just wanna make sure you didn't misunderstand me - I only found the OPENING sequence cheesy, not the entire movie!

Saw it today, and I also think it is one of the better Bond films. The lack of unbelievable hi-tech crap was a big plus.
I believe the tears issue was dealt with, but in a strange offbeat way. The explanation came from that character himself. Some other unresolved issues could become links to the next film. Hard to say how they plan to handle future films, seeing that this one was a remake of sorts. The long foot chase was waay cool.

I do beleive the next film deals with Bond trying to track down the organization that LaChiff worked for and also trying to get the money back.
(Otherwise he's working freebies for the rest of his career!) I also think the boyfriend, mentioned briefly at the end of the film, will feature in the sequel.

I wonder if they're going to remake all 26 bond movies?

A recent news headline about a British ex-spy was interestingly familiar.

The book had never been made into a James Bond movie, though Peter Sellers made a comedy based on it that I think was spoofing Bond. So this movie was like the beginning of the whole story. I would hope they would never think of remaking any Bond movie, because they are fine how they are. Michael |

Casino Royale was made into an okay movie. David Berglas tells quite a tale on the actual production, to which he was a consultant.

Thgre new bond, simply sensational. Daniel Craig is fantastic, on par with Sean Connery. I also understood, there not going to be doing remakes of the films, but simply writing their own scripts, as a continuation from this one. But I get the impression that the truth is under pretty tight wraps, and has yet to be released. Nick |
